Do the round trip tour, wait line for the train uphill can be long. but the views are well worth the wait! and it;s the steepest train in the world!

Well we got one of those days where the was absolutely no views from the top. BUT we still had a great day. Did the golden triangle - took the boat trip to the cog wheel train, this in itself was worth the trip. I think you definitely have to take the boat AND pay for first class. Less people... More

We were in awe of the gorgeous views to the mountains and Lake Lucerne below. Highly recommend this easy trip from Lucerne. We rode the bus to base, rode gondolas and cable car to top and returned to city in under three hours on our last day, when it was clear and sunny. Very memorable, beautiful. Pristine conditions of transport... More

Once the railway started the climb it was an escalade of such extraordinary views. In spite of not being the highest peak I felt I was on the top of the world. The fact that in one side we have several mountain peaks (actually we have a lot of them) and in another we have the lowland and lakes makes... More

Our first day was overcast and was pointless going up. The following day however, the sun came out as did the views. We did the round trip, caught a cruise around the lakes, amazing views and as the sun was now shining, it was magnificent. Then we caught the tram up - words can't describe the views you see on... The view from Mt Pilatus is fantastic. The day we went was fairly clear, but very cold and windy up the top. Definitely needed the gloves, beanie and jacket to stay outside and enjoy the views for an extended period. Recommend doing the 30 minute walk through the cave and up the side of the mountain. Can be a little... More

We arrived to begin our trip up the mountain in a small cable car that only fits 4 people. As uncomfortable as I was, I knew the trip would be worth it. We continued until we had to leave the small cable car to board a larger car that fit about 20 people. In all, the climb in the cable... More

Great fun riding up in the cable car to the top of the mountain. Stunning views over the lakes, countryside and mountains. We even had light snow while on top and took some amazing photos. The ride done in the cog-wheel train was was also a great experience. Highly recommend this activity.

After a short bus ride from Lucern rail station we reached the cable car station. Will never forget the beautiful view of green valleys and Alps during the cable car journey to top of the Mount Pilatus. An amazing place with fantastic facilities on top of the Mountain.

This is very close from luzern city and is well connected with trains. The rack train here is steepest in the world. Thus one must have this experience. from the top of mountain one gets excellent view of lake Lucerne and surrounding peaks. Depending on weather, one can get to see Titlis and Jungfrau.
