We got on a large two story ferry boat traveling clockwise around the lake. It made 2 stops before it got to Lucerne. The weather was perfect to be out on deck. It's lovely to walk along the lake. There is a great pathway where many people walk and run. Swans and ducks in the lake. There are also boat cruises around the lake. The views of the snow clad mountains all around the lake are great. A stroll around the lake is a must .Water crafts, boats , swans, ducks and the chill in the environment make this place amazingly beautiful. The piers, fountains. bars, add to the attraction. Lovely place overall.

Take several deep breaths of the most crisp and wonderful mountain air while you sit on a bench eating chocolates gazing out on the crystal clear water of the lake. Due some shopping for a Swiss watch, walk across the bridge, and take the lift at Mt.Stanserhorn to see what only God and nature can provide.

We took the boat from Alpnachstad to Lucerne, as it was included in our day pass - tageskarte gemeinde and it took one hour and a half. It stopped in many small pretty villages and of course the snowy Alps were in the background. If you have the time and maybe a pass which covers the trip, definitely must do.

We had dinner at a restaurant with tables outside and had a wonderful view of Lake Lucerne! We were impressed with how clean the city of Lucerne is and the Lake is truly beautiful to behold!

After we had finished shopping for souvenirs at the shops near the Bucherer and Casagrande buildings, we still had some time left before our bus came to pick us up. The water was extremely clean and clear. There are paddle boats, motor boats, tour boats for water activities in the summer. All around the lake are snow capped Alps. I put my feet in the water in June and to my surprise it wasn't incredibly cold.

the boats are clean, run professionally and a photographer's dream, especially the paddle wheel steamers.
