Lots of things to do by the lake Luzern during summer. Includes sailing, steam boat trips, or if you are up for it, try a half-day road trip around the 4 lakes around Lucerne, stopping at charming villages like Weggis, Vitznau, Bruglen, Stans, Burgenstock.

Now we understand why Lucerne has stood the test of time! The bridge is amazing but the swans steal the show!

Tickets are very expensive. So check the day trip tickets from the sbb.ch website. You may go by ship and take the cablecar up to Rigi mountain as well. You can go down on the other site to Küssnacht and go home by train. Like that you pay once for the ticket and see quite a bit. Anyway, Lucerne lake... More

The city is on the lake and is beautiful. The buildings are artistic and the shopping is wonderful. Many good restaurants but priced high. The lake is peaceful with various boats available for a tour. Swans and ducks everywhere. We only had a few hours here, we wish we could have spent more time.

Liked Everything. Disliked nothing. The lake flanked by the alps is majestic, there's beautiful covered bridges and amazing houses and building, quite different.

We spent some time going across Lake Luzern while on a cruise as part of our Mt. Pilatus experience. I wrote a review about that, so feel free to switch on over to that if you're interested. Lake Luzern is beautiful. You can spend as much time or as little time as you'd like to around this local attraction.

This is a beauty in Lucerne. We loved the serenity and the bliss that lucerne and its surroundings have.

Beautiful lake with excellent walking round the area. Plenty of kiosks for drinks and snacks. Very clean not a bit of litter in sight. Lake lovely and clean. Swans and ducks to watch . Plenty of seats to sit and watch the world go by.

What a lovely way to spend some afternoon time soaking up the views. A quick hop to Weggis and back (1-1/2 hr) is well worth the time. We did it about 3 times! Free with a Swiss Pass (upgrade to 1st class, it only costs about $15 more & is so pleasant)
