Railway history of Switzerland! And lots more. Like the car show, the space shuttle; and you get to use the simulators.

Went because it was a rainny day, 30 minute walk or several buses to get you there; plan on about 3+ hours it is very large and very good; so much history and well presented; DO NOT MISS paying extra for the Swiss Chocolate show; I will not spoil the details but well worth the money; There were several shows... An excellent transport museum, possibly the best in Europe, which is "all weather". A lot for all ages and from the uneducated to the expert. The main museum includes train, car and air museums. A "must" is the St Gotthard model railway display. A most interesting display of the development of the train - especially the electric locomotive - for... More

The wife and I spent a rainy day here enjoying the exhibits. Great for travel technology buffs. Of course here, a Swiss person was the first at everything from panes to trains, to autos. The museum explored ships, trains autos, submersibles, you name it. Even the wife was enthusiastic and I normally have to drag her to places like this.

this place has the best when it comes to getting ur kids to learn about transport with some fascinating rides and hands on jobs like road building and trucks and conveyor belts. the airport museums is also very good with pilot skills being taught and a simulator to sit and practice on. too good. go here when in lucern.

Just a short bus or boat ride across the lake from downtown is the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz, the Swiss Transport Museum. One of the better collections of all things that move people and stuff that I've seen in Switzerland. The rail collection is most impressive and profiles the history of the Swiss rail system. Definitely family friendly with many interactive... More

Love this museum! Great exhibits - planes, trains and automobiles (+boats). Lots of hands on activities for the kids. Good restaurant. Not cheap, but worth it.

Big museum worth of seeing, transport museum with old trains, busses, cars, etc. It has even Planetarium and 3D IMAX cinema worth of seeing with its short films on the subject of nature.

I missed the Chapel Bridge because of spending too much time here. However I do not regret. Museum has lots of model in display and interactive sectors for both children and adults. A small tip: there are three train simulators, a fighter simulator and a helicopter simulator for visitors to experience. I'd say enter the museum as soon as it... More
