This is definitely one of the best museums Switzerland has to offer. Children simply like to see the old rails, cars, airplanes and other historic transportation equipment.

Try the Aircraft model. It works and you can even fly it upside down. feels nice. there is also a helicopter. Covers all means of transport and also covers Switzerland's Gotthard Tunnel History. We watched a 3d movie too and was a nice experience. Visited in 2012.

I wanted my family to enjoy this outstanding museum and I have to say that it is exceedingly good once you are in as other reviewers will agree BUT when we arrived there was a large mob of people out on the street which was just recognisable as a queue although it was continually from the side and front by... Enjoy a great day with the kids in the Verkehrshaus, there is so much to do and experience and it will tell you much about the mobility in Switzerland. There is always a special exception which you will enjoy as well.

If you do have a free day in Luzern, you should really go visiting the traffic museum. The entrance fee of 30 CHF is really worth it. You can discover big halls with trains, cars, planes, boats and gondolas. The museum is very interactive with a lot of things you can try on your own (e.g. simulators of driving a... More

There are indoor and outdoor activities, mostly for children, but even adults will not get bored. The museum have a huge area, which are divided to separate types of transport (planes, boats, cars, trains). All exhibits and information are brought up as a play game, so it is quite interesting and exciting. Really worth to go there!

Been there several times spanning over almost 40 years. It is special, granted. The sections for the kids are amazing, like a huge playground. There are construction sites, a small set of roads to learn traffic rules with pedaling go-karts, even sailing training (on your own and by remote) - because of the special sailing exhibit, and many interactive games....
