We planned on visiting after seeing the museum on Amazing race. The signs/cars building was our absolute favorite!! One side was green (mostly Swiss) signs, one was blue (mostly German) and one white signs. We also loved the second floor of the adjacent bldg with the cable cars. Self service restaurant was great. Museum is kid and stroller friendly. Most... More

Swiss Transport Museum has areas for museum, modern exhibits and play area for children. To me the interesting parts were modern exhibits and play are for children. Young children would enjoy the play area thoroughly. It is also a good place to teach older children about system and functioning of vessels, ports, aircraft etc. There is a good walkway leading... this is one of the few Swiss Museums that is worth a visit every year, partly because of new exposition themes and partly to go back to children dreams.

The Swiss Transportation Museum is definitely one of a kind. Plan to spend the better part of a day here with the kids. Don't miss the planetarium!

We visited the Swiss Transport Museum on our last day of our trip for a more low key activity. With Swiss Pass the tickets were half off! Our group was all adults from the US and we really enjoyed the visit. Every exhibit is really well done, from the full size Swiss Air planes you can go inside, to the... More

Transport Museum is a great place to spend your day in. It's a little bit too expensive, so make sure you spend there at least 3 hours and enjoy yourself. But it's all worth it! Try a helicopter and plane simulator and turn yourself up side down :) Fun. What I loved the most was the outside playground, basically made... More

Bring your kids here. They will enjoy it. The transport museum will take more you than 3 hours to finish. It is really huge and a whole vast of information. Its a plus if you are a train enthusiast. There are a couple of other side activities in the museum as well. Like the IMAX theatre and a Choc museum.

I haven't been there since ages and it was nice to come back. I particularly liked the Swiss arena, a huge map of Switzerland with maybe 2 m resolution! I would say it will take you 3.5 hours to visit the museum.

I am only going to the Verkehrshaus to see and enjoy the films on the IMAX, it is the only IMAX in Switzerland and I do not mind spending 6 hours on the train to see one of their wonderful films, absolutely amazing
