A couple of hours (3-5) is sufficient for looking around and learning about Swiss transport history by air, railroad, seaways (Swiss?) and road. Decently priced entertainment brought to the public in an orderly manner. For both adults and children many things can be tested; the flight simulators are a highlight. Warmly recommended to spent half a day in this great... More

We visited this museum by chance as our 11 year old wanted to go to the planetarium. We got there at around noon and the planetarium show started at 2 so we bought tickets for the transport museum to kill time, and we had a great time. Ideally you should plan to go from the morning though as we barely... More

We needed to go somewhere to escape the rain and were recommended this museum. We paid for three experiences - the museum itself which covers cars, trains, ships and planes and was very interesting. The chocolate experience was brilliant, the story of chocolate from grower to retailer was cleverly told as one was moved in a "chariot" from display to... More

Wonderful experience, great variety and for sure a must see in Lucerne. In summer the area in the middle with activities for kids is enough to fill the whole day. Highly recommended

This museum has a lot of things to present. You will learn a lot about all transportation means such as train, car, plane, boat but also more esoteric means. It goes up to space.

A nice place for travellers with kids esp the chocolate tour! Easy access both by tram and cruise boat. Plenty of play area for children to enjoy.

I have been here 2 or 3 times and have always been able to find new and interesting exhibits. This is a great place for the children because it is a "hands on" place and they can enjoy all the exhibits. My 1st trip to the museum was about 20 years ago with a friend and the guards had to... More

The Verkehrshaus is huge and to see everything properly would take at least a couple of days. It is divided into sections - Rail, Road, Air - and in addition to the standard exhibits it hosts short-term exhibitions. The Hans Erni Museum is on the same site. We had been there before and so knew we could not try to... More
