I'm not sure who had more fun at this museum - my husband or 5 year old. We spent a good 8 hours there, could have spent days. Very interesting and so interactive. Great activity to do with a child or by yourself

This is a great, great museum. If you have kids or love planes, trains and automobiles then this is a must visit. If you are in from out of the country then spend your time seeing mountains and the rest of Luzurn. I wouldn't say this place is required to have a great Swiss experience. But my son loves it... The museum is big and has sections about trains / planes / boats etc.. apart from few activities for kids (free scooter / slides/ toy train etc;) there was not much to do . we found it quite boring and it is expensive.. the walk (next to lake) around the museum is nice and refreshing .. My son enjoyed for... More

The way information these days is presented for sure is not reflected in the Verkehrshaus. The didactic concept seems not to be existent and there is no logical structure in the exhibition ( at least not for me ). It is a bit such good objects and interesting topics are presented in such a way.

Yes, we agree with all the other reviewers that this museum has great exhibits of many modes of transportation. Information is given in two languages, including English. However, who are the intended visitors of this museum? Information is too technical for children and many adults. One would need to be quite knowledgeable about trains, for example, to understand much of... More

It is easily reached from the center of Lucerne by bus which departs from the railway station or by lake steamer to the Lido dock.

Great museum with all kinds of transportation exhibits from trains to planes, ships and automobiles. Many interactive exhibits that the kids love. Due to the size plan to spend the better part of the day. There is food on site

We planned on visiting after seeing the museum on Amazing race. The signs/cars building was our absolute favorite!! One side was green (mostly Swiss) signs, one was blue (mostly German) and one white signs. We also loved the second floor of the adjacent bldg with the cable cars. Self service restaurant was great. Museum is kid and stroller friendly. Most... More

Swiss Transport Museum has areas for museum, modern exhibits and play area for children. To me the interesting parts were modern exhibits and play are for children. Young children would enjoy the play area thoroughly. It is also a good place to teach older children about system and functioning of vessels, ports, aircraft etc. There is a good walkway leading... this is one of the few Swiss Museums that is worth a visit every year, partly because of new exposition themes and partly to go back to children dreams.
