We drove from Bern to Lucerne and our driver just drop us at the Bahnhof (train station). Our tour by foot started from Bahnhof. We crossrd the road towards the river then at the left hand side, we saw the most popular landmark of Lucerne, Chapel Bridge and water tower. We walked close to the bridge and went inside the... I always enjoy a good walking tour and this one was no exception! Our guide was very pleasant to tour with, and led us through two hours of highlights in Lucerne. Meeting at the Tourist Information bureau at the train station and then covering most of Old Town. Reasonable cost, but do get a visitors card from your hotel to... More

What a wonderful city - joined a walking tour to get a feel for the place as we were visiting for the day from Zurich. As soon as you leave the station and cross the road at the front entrance you realise you are in a pretty and special city in Switzerland - backed by mountains and on the lake... More

Met the tour guide at the train station tourist center at 10am on a sunny saturday morning. The tour follows the red line marked on the city map so you could easily take the tour without a tour guide. On the tour was myself and a swiss couple. The tour guide presented the tour in Swiss and english so she... More

Wanted to point out that while in Lucerne, we were able to try the raclette (a melted fondu-type cheese - kinda stinky) in the old part of Lucerne not far from the bridge. It was set up in a tent, so there is no name for this "restaurant," so I don't know if it was permanent or just a temporary... More

We got off the train in Luzerne and walked up to street level where there was a Tourist Information desk. Very helpful. Early morning, around 10, for walking tour. There was a cost, but very reasonable. It was about 2 hours long and very informative. Don't see lions monument, but told us how to see it on our own, as... More

We took the optional Lucerne walking tour on April 2, 2012 as past of our Viking River Cruise. When we visited we had no idea that this beautiful village is at the base of the Swiss Alps. It was like something out of the Olympic games with the winding coble stone streets, and quaint buildings sporting the multi-colored flags. We... More

I visited the city with my girlfriend in one day. W stayed in Zurich and took the train in the morning and got back in the afternoon. We took a the city guide (you can also find it at this link: http://www.luzern.com/en/brochures ) from the info center and took the path marked in red. The guide is really nice and... More
