Clean and safe

Huge with retail shopping and food kiosks, Pay toilets though. $2 francs. They are very clean. Safe feeling, no graffiti or gangs hanging around. Well marked ticket areas.

We boarded quite a lot of trains from the Lucerne station for the Titlis, Zurich, while coming from Interlaken. Its on the other side if the river. The ticket counter is beneath the main train station. There is also a Money changer beneath the train station and quite a lot of shops also.

Clean and easy to get around. Tourist information is helpful but closed on Sunday. The Station is close to the old city and many of the tourist sites. Just meters from the lake.

If stuck go to the Tourist Info Office - really helpful. Information boards are logical and well sited, station is clean but very busy and if you walk out of the front you get a magnificent view of the city and the lake

As is the case with virtually all Swiss train stations this is an efficient and reliable transport point. Also well positioned relative to the Old Town and a number of historic sites. Downstairs near the supermarket are clean bathrooms (for a fee of about CHF2) as well as supermarket and couple of other shops. well appointed signage and easy to... More

Why can't all train stations be like this one? It is clean, conveniently located and has everything you need from shopping to lockers for checking your bags while you stroll around town. What a great welcome to such a wonderful country.
