In a city where one's cash can run out fairly quickly, let's hear it for the Museum of Natural History, which is free. It's an impressive collection of stuffed animals et al, alongside a fine collection of crystal formations and the like. As other reviewers have said, it's slightly disappointing - given the international nature of this city - that... More

The exhibits in this museum have a certain charm and humour. I think some of them are a bit old, and attempts at taxidermy have resulted in some hilarious effects. They do have massive excellent displays of African animals in more or less "natural" settings that try to capture how the animals would have "lived". There is an incredible display... More

Go if you are with kids and with french knowledge. In maintenance and quality is fairly Swiss. Seems like this is built to cater local schools and students for some practical knowledge.

I took my son to this museum when he was a toddler and a young child but let's face it, at twelve they probably know more than the place can tell them. The stuffed animals are a bit creepy and the gems not really entertaining. The cafeteria is very comfortable and offers good fare.

It is a good collection of animals, but you keep thinking where did all they come from. It is a good way to learn about animal kingdom, to see sizes and real colours, at the same time it is a little sad to see them unanimated.

It was great but I wish they had some description or at least an audio guide in English. Other than that, really enjoyed it

I would have rated this 3 dots, but it was free, so I gave it 4. Museum is mostly stuffed animals set in a zoo-like scenes. One floor of rocks and crystals. Large area under renovation, so not sure what will be there later. Most descriptions are in French only. Lots of children running around. Most of the museum is... More

be aware the building may look closed, the front doors are not the ones facing the lake Leman (Geneva Lake). The staff are very friendly and looked after my suitcase so I could walk around. There are important historical apparatus there that anyone with interest in optics or physics will recognise. Be aware, most apparatus explanations are in French. I... More
