Lovely museum. I can with my daughters class and we enjoyed a guided tour of the new exhibition, exo planets. It was very good. This museum is well with the trip, especially on a day when you want to keep out of either the heat or cold (in winter)

A lot of stuffed creatures (animals, dinosaurs, birds, fishes, reptiles, amphibians, etc. Very good opportunity for kids to make familiar with Earth's wildlife.

Very interesting. Not only for children, but for adults also. I would like to have more time and another chance to visit it again.

We popped in here not knowing what to expect other than stuffed animals, so the space exhibit and minerals section were nice additions. Lovely way to fill a couple of hours in the morning before lunch. It's nice and quiet on a Sunday, and I reckon it would appeal to a variety of visitors, from single travellers to couples to... Good museum with plenty to see including lots of stuffed animals and I Teresa in artifacts. Not to far from the main drag with an excellent square a short distance away to relax and have a coffee.

This place is a taxidermist's delight, and just like the art museum, it is free. The museum alternates its animal scenes by overwhelming you with too much of one animal (my favorite is the four tigers all ready to pounce on the visitor) or the more artistically constructed scenes that "recreate" a natural Savannah scene. These tend to have an... More

As a free attraction I couldn't believe how much was in the museum. My daughter of 2 loved walking through and looking at all the animals and birds. For those looking to study the contents I recommend any day besides Wednesday or the weekend. There is a restaurant where you can get reasonable food and drinks. Note you are not... More

Before the days of television, museums would pride themselves on their taxidermy collections, as they allowed people to view animals up close that they would otherwise never have the chance to see. The Musée d'Histoire Naturelle seems to exist on the same principle - there are rooms and rooms of stuffed animals and birds; stuffed fish from the lake; stuffed... More

My wife and I love taxidermy so we will almost always pay a visit to the National History Museum of whichever city we are visiting. I have to say this one is outstanding, not to mention free!!! Not only do they have a huge collection of animals but the layout and displays are excellent. They have various scenes and you... More

It's a fab FREE place for children, open also on Sunday. So if it's raining (very common during the winter in Geneva) just head to the museum and you'll spend a great afternoon. Unfortunately still waiting for the Dinosaurs' floor to be renewed. There are also temporary expositions and special days like the one with a real owl! You can... More
