Book a boat tour, for the distance and price you can do it. The lake surroundings are beautiful, and those trips deserve a time.

We used out free travel ticket from the hotel on no.14 bus which drops off just near the lake. Walked round the shore near the jet d'eau. Has quite a few place to eat and we ate at a creperie snack bar near the entrance to the jet d'eau walkway. Was quite pricey by uk standards so be prepared and... More

As a tourist you can have a free ticket for public transport either from airport or from your hotel. This very same ticket is valid even in the boats that go across the lake. There are very beautiful parks near the lake and local people seem to have good time there. There are several baths in the parks and nice... More

This really is one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe and it definitely adds something to the otherwise boring city of Geneva. However, one of the best ways to enjoy it is on the railway between Montreux and Geneva, a journey which offers some fantastic views, with the lake on one side and rolling vineyards on the other.

An impressive water jet! The landmark of Geneva. On a nice day you can get a beautiful view with the lake and the mountains behind. It's just a nice touch to a scenery that's anyway already beautiful.

We strolled the promenade along the lake, dotted with many beautiful boats, cafes, gardens, and made our way to the jetty to the jet d'eau (that's free). Be prepared to get soaked by the water, but it felt really great on a hot summer day. The bridge was lined with beautiful flower hanging baskets. There were swans near the boats.... More

The lake and its surroundings are beautiful - we took a CGN boat cruise to see the shores of the lake that we hadn't managed to explore by foot and that was really interesting and a great way to take an hour out of our day. There are lots of restaurants and things to do on the shores - but... More

I like visiting the fountain and dislike the slipping there :) Drink some coffee and eat icecream while watching the view. Night boat with dinner is nice also.
