This was a very good – and sophisticated – contemporary art surprise.

This gallery is so diverse. There is something for everyone here. I spent many hours here and was warmly welcomed.

Housed in a post-industrial building, the MAMCO offers spacious rooms filled with a very diverse collection of contemporary art, both Swiss and international. Humorous and ironic, political and purely visual, the paintings and objects astonish, please and startle. Good for lonely pensive visit, a couple's evening out, a family outing or a school class. First-rate in an unpretentious way.

We are not strangers to modern art and regularly visit exhibitions in London and elsewhere. We have a small collection of contemporary painting and sculptures. However this museum is dull. It is a collection of pretentious twaddle. Art is obviously subjective and no doubt some people will find it fascinating but we found it awful.

24 films on the 4th floor museum. They are like fairy tales in a very common but strange context to make you lose the plot. Magic and mesmerizing! Gorgeous exhibition for those who like contemporary art. The whole museum is excellent. It is located downtown Geneva in a factory. 29 Oktober 2014 to 18 January 2015.

From the street, MAMCO doesn’t look like much. (It’s a block away from the Patek Philippe Museum, in case you’re thinking about going there, too.) Don’t judge a book by its cover. The program they had when I was there (mid-November, 2014) was outstanding, included work by Carl Andre (and not his most predictable work, either, which is a good... More

Silly place does not open until 12:00, and is a nightmare to find, but, once you get inside, prepare to adjust your mind. "The Long Echo" was the temp display for me, and I sort of got it it. Other displays either did nothing for me, or, just jaw dropping. This is a place you need to come to, see,... More

The museum was good enough...I expected more, but it was good. The one floor was with photos :-( The write-ups were in French and very few in English. If you don't know French it is difficult to follow up the museum. The lady in the entrance was unfriently.

I would take this off the list of Geneva attractions. Only two floors are open...one an incomprehensible film exhibition, and the other a few disconnected photo exhibits. Consider your entrance fee a donation to some mis-applied students.

Finding this place is confusing. This is "MAMCO" but the entrance area serves other places too. We went because we like (some) modern art, but were disappointed. Much of the (very large) space went to one particular artist who quickly lost my interest. Other art included several canvases painted over with one color. A large number of exhibits were "untitled".... More

Only two floors were open as they are the process of refurbishing the other floors. A wide range of exhibits. We also visited a photographic exhibition in the same building.
