This small but rich in historical objects museum stands just 5-10 min walk from Geneva's old town. You will not regret coming up there- the collection in very interesting, showing military uniforms, art objects, household utilities from Asia (the halls are separated by countries). Explanation materials in French and English.

For a little museum, tucked away on a residential street, this was a fasinating museum. Very unique and very interesting.

A group visit was organised on that Sunday for the temporary exposition, The Tôkaidô Road, made of beautiful old Japanese prints. Absolutely brilliant, with a great and very interesting guide. After we finished this tour, I visited the rest of the museum where Mr. Baur's Far Eastern Art pieces are exposed. If you are into Far Eastern Art, don't miss... More

Very hidden gem, not even known to many Swiss. Bring a very detailed map to find. Asking people will not help. Once found, the Japanese artifacts of the samurai will behold you with its intricate beauty. The Jade collection of the Chinese are okay. The temporary exhibit of the sacred altar textiles in May 2014 was absolutely outstanding. Opens only... More

This museum was a pleasure to visit. The collection is housed in a beautifully decorated old house. There is a feeling of calm and serenity. The staff are so helpful, but everything is very well curated and it is easy to find out around the exhibits. I almost had the museum to myself when I went to look at these... More

The collection, hosted in an ancient, elegant building of the old town, is just amazing: vases, objects, prints, swords and weapons from China and Japan, very well exposed and documented. Two temporary expositions per year, usually very interesting and complete. Opens only in the afternoon!
