We came here during the day on a Friday, we were the only people here so security followed us around. It was not a very straightforward museum with doors closed to each area seeming like the area was closed off. No air conditioning. The level -1 was interesting with Egyptian artefacts etc

I rarely leave a city without checking its collection of Western Art, so I ventured up to the district know as Les Tranchées which is near the Cathedral and overlooks the city and the lake. For starters, the museum is free, so it’s difficult to be jaded over the fact that no world-renowned paintings hang there. If you are an... More

This is a great little museum that captures all the major art movements from ancient to modern. There is no entrance fee for this museum.

I visited this place on wednesday with my son who was asleep in a pram. When you walked into a new room the staff got up from their chair and if you were lucky you might have got a pained 'bonjour' but they seemed more like security and followed you round the room or peaked after you into the next.... This museum has sculpture and painting as well as exhibits on tthe decorative arts and the history of Geneva. It's not a big art collection but certainly worth a visit

The building itself is impressive but the styling and presentation is very dated. Not a single word in English in the exhibition space. I've never been through a museum and seen so few patrons. I saw a maximum of 20 people apart from the docents. It's kind of like having a private showing. There's not a ton to do in... More

It is a shame - I've visited Geneva for several times but never went to this place until now. But it should be like a top 10 things to do in Geneva if you stay in town. There is no admission fee for permanent exhibition and the museum is located on a hill, so when the weather is clear there... More

Old and dusty. The rooms and the scenes are fine for young kids but nothing really impressive. PRobably you will find other interesting things to do...

Amazed to find Rodin's Venus and Adonis. Also enjoyed seeing original Picassos and Monets. There was too much to take in on one visit but we will return to look at the floors we missed out on this time round.

The museum contains an extensive collection of art but I had limited time to visit, so I concentrated on some of the things I wanted to see. On the upper floors there are many paintings. I have particular interest in Impressionism and there is a room containing some examples including Monet and Renoir. The Antonio Canova sculpture Venus and Adonis... More
