The most romantic little neat town in switzerland. Such an old world charm to it. Walk as much as you can and explore the gushing river Aare, the bridges and the neatly tucked flowers along side on stoned walls and stone streets. The clock tower was neat and just the feel to the entire place was very fancy and charming.... More

I picked up a street map in my hotel and used it to walk around the old town. The fountains are terrific. Don't miss the one of the ogre eating a baby. The Swiss National Parliament building is interesting. Use the pedestrian walkway next to the Parliament to go down to the River Aare, then walk to the Bear Park.... More

We really enjoyed our town touring around the old town of Bern. The old cobblestone streets with excellent chocolate shops everywhere. Make sure you go to Eichenberger for pastries and chocolates and Beeler for more chocolates. Globus is an interesting dept. store. For sites, we visited the cathedral, clock tower, Bear Park, Rose Garden, Einstein Haus and the Federal buildings.... More

One of the best preserved oldtowns in the world. Small but beautiful. Many nice restaurants/cafes along the streets. Specially the arcades are very pleasant to stroll around, even on a rainy day. Don't miss to visit the cellar-restaurants or the weekend-market in the münstergasse. Here you'll find one of the best choice of cheese with a big variety of local... More

I live in Bern, so I am familiar with my old town. I really like going there to eat out with my friends, because you can find a lot of great restaurants and coffee places. As a tourist, there's a lot to do, because there are many cultural and historical places such as "The Münster Tour", "Bärengraben", "Einstein's House" etc..... More

The old town is very pretty and easy to walk around. If you start from the Casinoplatz, go one directon to the Munster cathedral - go around it and in the back garden- there is a nice view over the river. Make sure you walk on the main street where there are many fountains and figures on the bildings. You... More

Old town Bern is gorgeous. We had a nice time just walking through and enjoying the old architecture and monuments. If walking isn't your thing, the tram takes you all over also.
