No bears appeared, the weather was off, and the park itself looked rather abandoned, to be frank about it. The city was a far greater attraction.

We went with the expectation of seeing lots of bears but were disappointed to see just 3 of them in the entire park. However we were still satisfied with the visit bcz it was a nice park by a lovely lake. You can even sit just right next to the lake & dip your feet in the COLD water.
I liked the fact that the park is so easily accessible. It is always open. You really see from close some nice big bears and you can tell that despite the fact that they're kept in captivity they are well taken care and have a really nice environment to live.
I like the fact that Bern has a BEAR as...

The new park that was built in 2009 is really nice to the big fellows that live there and from there the views over the river and the houses I really nice.
We have been in Bern for years and have been used to the old "Bärengraben" but today... we enjoyed the new opened Bärenpark, the bears got so much space now and you can see them from the bridge or from the water, what a nice feeling and a great view!!!
We spent a day in Berne Switzerland. One of the "attractions" was the Bear Park. We had no idea what to expect but it was a charming hillside, along the Aare River, which was home to a bear family. Spectators could watch from above the hillside or below, as mother, father and baby bears walked along doing what bears do!...

We saw a couple of bears. They were lovely but it's not really a big park with anything else to see. It's just on the side of the river where you get watch the bear from a distance. The view from the river is nice. Overall, if you have extra time in the city it's nice to go there.
This is a pit full of bears, where people can look down at them. I didn't like it. They did have a cave they could go into, but it seemed cruel.
The new bear park is built on an a terraced embankment right alongside the River Aare. During the spring and summer thousands come here to see the four brown bears they currently have. Sometimes they just walk on the hillside or play but they certainly are cute and worth visiting. There is also a very nice restaurant on site called...

The bear park is a must see when visiting Bern. We were fortunate that the bears where out and swimming. Timing is key to see the bears. The weather can be deterring, but there are things to do while waiting for the bears to come out and entertain. A very family friendly place with a lovely view of old Bern....
