Easy to get to and beautifully built. Just that we thought that there would be more of a display. Impressive noble the less and something to see.

The Bern Clock is as the locals say, the work of a single man. Every time the clock strikes an hour, there is an elaborate display of a number of toys on the clock that draw the attention of a visitor. The Clock Tower is at a walkable distance from the Bern railway station and in the midst of the... More

Our guide brought us to the place explaining that was the historical old clock. We waited in front of the tower for a while. Not only us, many tourists were there to see the moment. The clock moved at last! That was quite simple movement. I understood the reason why the guide said "historical". The street was not wide enough.... More

Living in Prague the astronomical clock is amazing and seeing another one in Bern was a surprise to say the least. I am glad there is more of these clocks around. Well worth the time to watch the clock strike the new hour. I wish we would have had time to do the tour but we had a tight schedule.... More

The "mechanical show" is pretty brief...but the clock is still a masterpiece and a landmark. How long can people ogle a clock??

Wow. We'd seen the Zytglogge in the BBC's fantastic "Mechanical Marvels - Clockwork Dreams" documentary (YouTube it!), and for Fr.15 each, here we are inside it as it strikes 2:45, 3:00 and 3:15. This clock attracts a crowd outside at the top of every hour of every day, just prior to the show it puts on - to the point... More

Make sure to show up five minutes *before* the hour to see the action, I didn't think of this the first time we stopped by and missed the action. It's not like this is a wonder of the world but as people say it is an icon of Bern and I think you'd feel something was missing if you didn't... More

Although not as amazing as the Clock Tower in Prague, the Clock Tower in Bern is remarkable - especially when you consider when it was constructed. You should arrive about 5 minutes before the hour in order to take full advantage of the show the clock gives to spectators at the top of each hour.

The massive clock, Zyttglocke, in the center of Bern is worth visiting while in Bern. Like any similar clock throughout Europe, the Zyttglocke has moving pieces that go through a small routine every hour. Father time flips the hour glass, the carpenter strikes the hammer on the bell, and several other small animations make their hourly dance; however, this dance... More
