Worth a picture and minutes of contemplation. The tower is located at the beginning of old town main street.

Given what we had read in Eyewitness Travel and Lonely Planet we were expecting a spectacle of memorable proportions from this inspirational clock in Bern. No, nup, nicht, nada. The ten minutes of waiting for the thirty seconds of movement from the timesmen 4 minutes prior to the hour was not worth the wait. Not remotely. Bern itself was incredibly... More

The clock tower or Zyglocke is in the centre of the old city and is perhaps the equivalent in Bern of the Kapellbrücke in Lucerne – one of those things that you have to see and visit !! And why not? It is on the street of the old city which you would want to be visiting in any touring... More

I wouldn't make this a reason for visiting very disappointing. It is a visual piece of history however not like the Astronomical Clock in Prague.

The Clock Tower is within the centre of town and a decent focal point, and is also a nice thing to set your eyes on for 30 seconds, however I wouldn't suggest making a journey to see it as you'll be ultimately disappointed. The tower is nice, a gate to Gramgasse, 4 minutes before the hour you will see the anination and the turning of the clock, it is worth to see it and take a couple of photos. We could not take the tower tour, because it is valid fron 1st of April.

We've been here during a school group journey through Switzerland. We were dissapointed for what we expected. Nothing special, had nothing to do with Prague astronomical clock to which it looks like.
