The pharma museum is a small and interesting place with a variety of objects, from superstitious objects to the first medical tools and microscoped and terminating with a reconstruction of a chemist's workshop. They also organise guided tours in German and English upon request.

This is a nicely curated self-guided museum in central Basel that will be popular with anyone who is interested in pharmacy or medicine. The exhibits are nicely laid our but as others have said, the written information is almost entirely in German. The audioguide is available in multiple languages and is very comprehensive...but of course is more time-consuming than reading.... More

This is an interesting museum without many tourists. There is not much information displayed in English, so if that's an issue I recommend the audio guide. The audio guide could have been more succinct, but despite it being too wordy it was still helpful to provide background in English. There was also a special exhibition available during my visit, but... More

A friend was visiting me and we were trying to find unusual things to do - so we thought we'd give this a go. If you're the kind of person who doesn't mind just going through and going 'that is so interesting' without narrative to help, this is an amazing museum filled with lots of wondrous goodies. I can definitely... More

This place has very many interesting items on display. However, they lack the funds to really display them professionally. People were most eager to be helpful

Small but charming museum, with old pharmacists books, including books fromHoffman la Roche, replica of an antique wooden pharmacy ... And during the open museum night, strange and delicious cocktails :-)

This gem of a museum is tucked away behind a locked door which was opened just as we passed, or we might have missed it. Two floors of displays have been prepared meticulously, with labels in German. Fortunately, for four Swiss francs, we had hired a headset which gave explanations in English. You’d be there for hours if you looked... More

Wow, what a collection. I am not really interested in pharma, but this museum has such a rich collection of pharma-"things", you nearly can't believe what you see.Well done chronologically as well with two entire rebuilt pharmacies in the building. Great and unique stuff

Eleven rooms to view in a house once lived in by Erasmus Paracelsus and hans Holbein Some devoted to entire pharmacies others with themes and various time periods. The street entrance looks nothing, but it takes you to an impressive inner courtyard.

I have an interest in pharmacy so found the history and exhibit items very interesting. There are several floors with some displays behind glass cabinets and some rooms set up as they would have been in their time period. The herb garden outside is small but nicely labeled.
