Don't miss this!

It's a huge, incredibly detailed attraction. Multiple greenhouse stuffed to the roof with plants. If you're into gardening then it's even more a must see!

The botanical garden was a nice place to visit even on a snowy January day. The greenhouses provided a nice warm respite from the cold outside. Plants from all over the globe were represented. My young children (ages 4 and 2) enjoyed the tropical greenhouse which even housed tropical birds and turtles. I like the variety of species in this... More

Exemplifies Swiss attention to detail and quality. Well presented specimens sensibly arranged. A romantic and a botanic experience.

Interesting set of greenhouses. Nothing written in English but did not detract from the experience. No entrance fee, donations welcomed.

It's a beautiful place with many species from all around the world. The highlight is the Tropenhaus, with several tropical plants and awesome birds flying around (it's better to go in cold days because it's very warm and humid inside!). The plants are all with identification labels and it's very organized.

This is a fantastic place to visit. We discovered it by accident when we were doing one of the Basel walks. There are loads of interesting and enormous tropical plants to view. In fact it is almost like being in a tropical rain forest - every now and then the air is sprayed with mist which adds to the atmosphere.... More

Found this place by chance whilst wandering in the city. Lovely calm and cool place on a hot summers days. Lots of hot houses to visit, old and new. All week kept and clearly labeled.
