Although aimed at children, I think many adults will find Spielzeug Welten charming. It houses the largest teddy bear collection in Europe, and dozens of antique and contemporary miniature displays. There are also regional exhibits as well.

IT is a wonderful museum to visit not just the children but also the adults. We do not have unfortunately many museums like this in Europe.

This museum is 4 floors and features teddy bears and doll houses from over a ~200 year period. Some of the floors featured special exhibits (I visited December 2015, and the special exhibits included one on umbrellas/parasols, and another one on 500 years of cooking history full of cookbooks and menus over the years). All the vitrines show the teddy... More

We chose this museum as we have a son and thought he would enjoy the display of toys. He was quite disappointed as it is mostly models and teddies. Not many real toys on display. Some of the attractions (food from the last 500 years... toys?) might interest some people and a collection of umbrella's might appeal to somebodies tastes... More

From the hundreds of teddies on the top floor to the miniatures in the dolls houses and displays, we were delighted. Could have done with much more labelling and information. We left with many questions, Loved the dolls house furniture.

This has to be one of the best things to do in Basel, recommended by our hotel. On our last day in Basel and to kill time we gave it a go , for CHF7 we spent nearly 2 hours here and we don't have kids! 4 floors of totally interesting exhibits from bears to dolls houses and with some... More

lovely building with lots of Teddy Bears and dolls all of which are on display behind huge glass cabinets. Each display is a themed installation, but clearly provokes images of bygone times and gives a great insight into children at play long before tech toys!!! In total there are four floors to walk round, you purchase ticket at reception and take the lift... More

Thoroughly enjoyed visit to the Museum, which is on 4 floors, and easily accessible. There is a restaurant which you can have various dishes. Staff were very helpful. It was wonderful to see the toys of years ago, and especially the working mechanical displays.

Very beautiful and inspiring for any age group, not only children. Museum has four floors and a huge variety of installation. Never seen so many cute things in one place. There were the entire cities made from dolls and toys, everything very realistic. Not only toys, but also vintage umbrellas, cards etc. Tickets are quite inexpensive.

This is a fantastic museum of puppets, dolls, and stuffed animals. My friends poo-pooed it before I went, but I'm glad I insisted! Well worth the time and nominal cost of admission. I recommend it!
