The building is stunning and a unique structure in Basel owing to it's red brick and colourful roof. The climb was awesome, steep, winding and narrow with extremely dark stairwells, the kids loved it, ours are aged from 3-9 and all made it up no problem, go and have fun!

The cathedral is lovely, set above the city and above all it is free, definitely worth a visit, there are also some interesting sculptures there too.

When in Basel, this is one of the primary activities. It is certainly worth seeing. A main attraction is to climb the steps up to the top, walking on the outer decking. It has great views of the old city and river.

The Basler Münster is a fantastic example of Romanesque and Gothic styles of architecture, and it's red sandstone walls hold a wealth of history. You can roam through the main church free-of-charge and you should take time to look up at the wonderful stained glass windows. You can also venture down to the crypt, where you can see the remains... More

Basel zoo is a perfectly fine city zoo. The enclosure design is good and there are plenty of good sight lines to the animals. Although we had a good time we just didn't feel there was anything exceptional that justifies how this zoo gets in to many top ten zoos of the world (or Europe) lists.

This is definitely worth a visit. The Munster itself is impressive from a distance and inside is quite majestically. I also loved the area around the church, it was well preserved/regenerated and a perfect opportunity for those typically Swiss pictures.

Originally a Catholic cathedral and today a Reformed Protestant church, the Basler Münster is extremely beautiful both outside and inside. The colors of the façades, the two towers named after St. George and St. Martin, the main porch and the enormous organ, can leave the visitor astonished. In 1529 all religious images were removed from the cathedral and the building... More

The main cathedral of Basel. Dating from Middle Ages. Its about 300 steps to climb up the towers. From the left one the view is better on the historical old town as well as the river. Great Place!

You MUST pay the small fee to climb to the top of the Tower. An excellent experience and a remarkable view.
