13th century cathedral that is certainly worthy of seeing. Very interesting architecture, sculptures and sights. Beautiful archways and building is made of red stone. 2 sun dial clocks, a modern clock, various grotesque figures adorn the outside, as well as St. George slaying the dragon above the main entrance (there are several of these type of sculptures throughout Basel). There... More

It's worth the modest charge to walk up the old stairs past the bell to the narrow ledge which provides wonderful views of the city and the Rhine River.

I had a great experience and an amazing view from the top of the Munster, maybe it doesn't worth just to visit the down inside, but the upper is amazing because you have a wonderful view of Basel city. I recommend this if you are not afraid of small and closed places. It is really tiny and the stair are... More

A volunteer welcomed us and gave us permission to applaud the organist who was rehearsing at the time. The sound of the organ was wonderful. The cathedral has some beautiful stained glass windows that were installed in 1906. We enjoyed sitting resting, taking in the ambiance of our surroundings.

If you are visiting basel, you should visit the Münster just for the view. Its beautiful from both without and within. I f you go to the rear of the main billing you will find yourself on the "Pfalz", a small park above a 30 meter Wall and sheer drop down to the Rhine. To the right of the main... More

It's towers have a spectacular view of the Rhine river and the city of Basel, but I suggest you visit the tower on the left to get a better view of the city (or else that one will block your view lol). It's also mandatory to up with at least another person, so all you solo travelers make sure to... More

My wife and I visited the Munster in early July. It started as a 9th century Carolingian church, and was consecrated by Henry 2nd in 1019. It was rebuilt in 1356 after an earthquake in a mostly Gothic style. There are still remnants of its earlier Romanesque style in the facade of the north transept. The tomb of Erasmus is... More

famous with tourists and locals, you will have an astonishing view over the river, Mittlere Brücke, Wettsteinbrücke, the new Roche tower in the backyard. also it is known to be a ideal place for wedding couples to take a few shots and gather with their guests. But make sure you don't miss the inner part of the church, there grow... More

Well worth a visit if you are visiting Basel. It is easy to get there on the tram and then a short walk.
