A pretty building with some nice features. We visited as we struggled to fill a day with things to do in Basel, so were glad we popped by as the views are lovely.

Good views over the city and nice statues eg St George slaying the dragon. Free to visit. Quite a grand building. Worth a visit.

We found the Elizabethan Church more interesting but the Munster is worth a visit. Great landmark as you walk around the city.

The Basel Munster is a lovely late Romanesque church dominating the skyline of the city with its twin towers. It has fascinating courtyards in which there are both old and modern sculptures. The view over the river from behind the Munster is one of the nicest and well worth visiting

Beautifully maintained cathedral, very prominent in a lovely area of the city with some stunning stained glass windows. Lucky enough to have visited when a service was taking place which added to the atmosphere and reverence felt.

Very beautiful old monument with special architecture/sculpture. It is definitely one of the best of historic Basel.

I've lived in Basel for 5 years, and the Münster is definitely one of the highlights of this city that I have come to love. I bring all of my friends from overseas here when they come to visit. What a lot of people don't realize is that you can climb the 300+ stairs to the top of either of... More

A 'must' location to visit in Basel Alt district. The monument for Erasmus alone makes it worth the visit but the ornate wood and stone carvings are beautiful.

This iconic landmark stands proudly among the beautiful buildings of historic Basel. The twin towers can be clearly seen from the banks of the Rhein and is well worth a visit. There are some fabulous windows and paintings to enjoy. Take a trip down the stairs to the crypt where you will find some of the most ancient and fascinating... More
