As you walk up a hill you can begin to see the roof of this church and it is wonderfully colorful. We climbed to the top of the bell tower (additional fee required) and it was amazing to see the Rhine, the city and the beauty all around. We asked about an English service on Sunday and there is one... More

The initial striking impression is of the red sandstone and the beautiful twin towers rising above the river. The square outside is lined by lovely medieval buildings and there is a platform with seats above the river shaded by chestnut trees. The outside of the Munster is covered by sculptures and carvings and at the rear is a wonderful cloister... More

Make a walk along the River Rhine with the phantastic skyline. Change the side by a ride with one of four the ferries that cross the Rhine here and see the skyline from the other side with Münster and many old and historical buildings. Make a boat trip on the Rhien for a couple of hours and see the neighbourghood... More

THe view from the top is amazing on a nice day. it costs 3CHF and it is worth a climb for people who do not have medical problems. SOme parts of the stairs can be a bit dark, so have to very careful. This place is worth visiting after sunset during Fashnacht! It is a place for display of all... More

The Basel Münster is an enjoyable refuge among the bustle of the Old Town. The location overlooking the Rhine, the cloister garden and beautiful interior of the church make for a well-worth visit.

We really enjoyed this church. It was absolutely beautifully done on the inside. I loved the stained glass windows and I especially enjoyed getting to walk up around the back part of the church. I liked also how they allowed you to see how the "Old part of the cathedral" had once been built when they remodeled over areas, very... More

Having seen some great Churches all across Europe, I was wondering what would be so great about this one. But, I was not disappointed. We went to the tower (paid Euro 5 each) and it was worth the fee. The view from the top of the tower of the city and the river behind was excellent. We heard that you... More

Do not miss the crypt with its frescos. Entrance is free and worth a visit. Eramus from Roterdan tomb is also there.
