The Picasso exhibit is well worth the price of admission. You can get up close to the pieces which are quite varied.

I have only discovered a real appreciation of art in the last couple of years, have been to The Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the Prado in Madrid and several other wonderful galleries, but the Kunstmuseum is my favorite. The current Picasso exhibition on the top floor is a must see. All the works are owned by the museum or Basel's locals!! The collection of works in this museum would be fitting in a major European capital. Just one of the many reasons to visit Basel.
This is place is worth a visit even if you are in Basel for a very short time. They have audio guides. They had a Picasso exhibition when we were here in April 2013. Do visit their museum shop which has a nice art book and poster collection.
The Picasso exhibit is detailed, expansive and gives one a good overview of Picasso's life and his works of art.
The Picasso special exhibition is very interesting and there are lots of paintings which have been loaned to the museum by private collectors. The drawings taken from a collection of over 200 were my favourite. The museum has a beautiful standing collection of paintings - well worth a visit no matter what time of year.
It worth to visit this extraordinary and sophisticated collection of Picasso and not only. It worth to dedicated half a day at minimum to really loose yourself into the beauty of different collections
For the lovers of moder art, a visit in this museum is a must. I visited here some years ago and the collectionhas completely changed (I suppose they have a rotating set of collections of paintings, oils on canvas, statues they often change on display). Count a good half day to enjoy everything
The Kunstmuseum Basel is World Class. When we visited, there was a retrospective of the Picasso exhibition commemorating the gift of several paintings by Picasso to the city. The story of that gift is interesting. The citizens of Basel voted to buy several paintings. This so impressed Picasso that he offered an additional painting at no cost. The museum director...
