We went here because of the reviews we had read on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed! This is a very unusual and interesting place. It has a huge, working water wheel that still runs the pulp rendering machines. You won't be disappointed!

The museum is very educational and fun. It allows everyone to create their unique paper. Furthermore, you can write, type or print on your paper. Make a passport book ...etc. We traveled their with our 2 kids (3 & 4) and they both love it very much. Please remember to start the journey from floor 0 where you start making... More

Kept four children aged 8-12 amused. Lots to make and do. Staff mainly very helpful except the old man making the passport covers who clearly doesn't like people, children or the English. Good job he likes paper really!! Overall a really nice day out and the children came home with we lots of stuff they'd made and an a renewed... More

The paper museum was really amazing and well done! It’s both informative and interactive. It may border on just a little too much information- there’s no way you can go through all of it in a reasonable time. It covers the history of paper, writing, printing, book binding, so on. Each floor also has at least one interactive demo, such... More

We took my 14 year old grandson to this museum. The walk was pretty hilly, but worth it. This is a fantastic museum to take someone to who enjoys seeing how things work. This is a very hands=on museum, with great guides. We do not speak Swiss, but did understand how he was making paper. All signs are in several... More

More interesting than you would think - a well laid out introduction to the art of making paper in a lovely location.

Loved this place. Don't know why people think its a children's museum. You'll learn a lot, and the gift shop is one of the best I've seen. Beautiful paper products. A definite "must see".

At the Basel paper museum, kids will explore how paper used to be made when there were no big machines like the ones used nowadays. You will also get a chance to make your own paper. After the paper is formed and dried, you get to use stamps to print out a message. And you can buy old fancy writing... More

I have to say, my wife and I had a nsg reaction to this museum--and she used to be a printer and work in the textbook business! That's right, at the college she attended they had a printing press and she ran it, and then right after college she got a job at a printer. And right after that, she... More
