The Tinguely-Brunnen is a great sight. The mechanical moving water art is like individual fountains. Each one is unique and sprays water in a variety of ways. There is a tram stop very close. We saw this on a rainy day and it was still fun. A must see in Basel.

A refreshing fountain, especially at time of a heatwave. It certainly is a conversation piece, and one can select one's favourite and discuss with others why - and so on and so forth. The place is so close to the real centre that it is hard to avoid, and it should be included in any serious reconnaisance stroll of downtown... More

The fountain is great, beautiful from the artistic point of view, and refreshing, now that the heat arrived! Take some time to look at all the pieces and enjoy!

Take 20 minutes to sit and enjoy the kinetic sculptures of Tinguely Fountain--soak up their graceful mechanical movements.

This is a most different and interesting place to visit. You need a few hours to see it all but it is worth it.

funny plastics- a fountain that moves. Within the Fox trail for Basel you will have also a quiz for that station. nice place - close to the Campari bar or the Basel Theatre or Stadtkasino. you could just sit and watch while eating icecream in summer time. Beginning of winter the fountain will be frozen and the splashes will look... More

Clearly, the only purpose of the water sculptures is to delight and entertain. The comical sculptures splash water back and forth and were fun to watch. It really is an engineering marvel, which I enjoyed. Others in our group were underwhelmed. It's free, so if you're in Basel, stop by the square and see for yourself.

This is a fountain next to the theatre and is in fact made with some of the remains of the previous theatre. There are ten separate fountains that make up the complete fountain, all with individual names in Basel German that mostly aren't transferable. In the sun it is interesting to sit and watch them but still not sure whether... More
