funny plastics- a fountain that moves. Within the Fox trail for Basel you will have also a quiz for that station. nice place - close to the Campari bar or the Basel Theatre or Stadtkasino. you could just sit and watch while eating icecream in summer time. Beginning of winter the fountain will be frozen and the splashes will look... More

Clearly, the only purpose of the water sculptures is to delight and entertain. The comical sculptures splash water back and forth and were fun to watch. It really is an engineering marvel, which I enjoyed. Others in our group were underwhelmed. It's free, so if you're in Basel, stop by the square and see for yourself.

This is a fountain next to the theatre and is in fact made with some of the remains of the previous theatre. There are ten separate fountains that make up the complete fountain, all with individual names in Basel German that mostly aren't transferable. In the sun it is interesting to sit and watch them but still not sure whether... More

There's a nice square in Basel, between the Basel Theater and the Offene Kirche Elisabethen (a nice gothic church turned theatre as well) and here this imaginative fountain is located. We are perhaps 5 min. walk (or 1 tram stop) from the main railway station. Beyond here, the Altstadt with all its highlights is located. The fountain is a large... More

Well worth a quick visit to see it in motion. Not a large feature but interesting to see it in action. Watch out for the pigeons though! Can get quite busy around it so grab a photo when you can.

Good fun sculptures that the children and myself enjoyed seeing in Basel. There was some seating nearby which meant I could sit and watch whilst my children run around the water feature, trying not to get wet from the fountains! There is a lot of interesting art and scultptures in Basel that are worth seeing.

The fountain is really nice with an amazing engineered way of dealing with water. All the family enjoyed sitting watching the fountain for a little bit. It deserves a quick visit.

A fountain by Swiss artist Jeannot Tinguely, built 1975-77, partially made of stage props of the old theatre that once stood on its site, turned into machine-sculptures spewing fountains of water in ever-changing patterns.

Free thing to see in Basel and especially cool in freezing temperatures. Centrally located as well. Not so nice at night due to lurking teenagers
