This fountain is worth it in summer and in winter. Whereas in winter you see frosted formations in summer it makes fun looking at the fountain. In fact, the fountain represents the playing actors, as there was the stage of the former theatre. Go for it. oh and.. downwards the nearest stairs you find the name of each "actor" -... More

Very special fountain close to the centre of Basel. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the nice mood of the fountain. Many people around, funny, perpetual moving fountains. If you are in Basel, it is really a must see.

You might come here for the animated fountains, which look different from each angle, or simply rest between visits to the Kunst Halle, visitors center, or Spielzeug museum.

Unique and interesting fountains which are a great example of Tinguely's work. This is a free attraction and is definitely worth a visit. I found it to be more interesting than the Tinguely museum because the fountain lets you see a large group of machines that were constantly moving at one time.

Located near the theatre centre, the fountain is made of several different mechanisms that move to spurt water in different ways. Cool to see the different art in the fountain.

Great little place to go sit and relax while listening to the water fountains. Better to visit when the weather is warm and the fountain is not frozen

We passed this one evening and thought it was quite unusual but interesting to look at. It isn't worth taking time out of your trip to try and find but if your near the centre then take a look.

We stopped here briefly just to have a look around. Its really nice the fountain is really complicated and its nice to admire the genius that must have been put in to make this thing work. You can walk back to Marketplatz in less than 10 minutes from the tram stop, and its a nice walk past the Christmas Market(... More

A group of quirky fountains in true Tinguely style in the centre of Basel, just round the corner from Barfüsserplatz and close to the theatre. They're interesting all year round, but scenic when they are frozen up in the winter months. It won't take you long to look at them, but it's worth it.

If you find yourself at basel center just take a small detour and go see the thing. Its mildly interesting with mechanical small fountains. It should take 5 minutes to see but its worth it, if it wasn't near the center i wouldn't bother.
