Just impressive. it doesn't matter if you are on the square and look the city in front of you, or if you are below the place, and look to the magnificence of arches holding the square up: the view is simply fantastic.

The walk up to the Piazza will take you through steep winding streets, but it's charming. Once at the top you will have a wonderful panoramic view of the valley. It's a hidden delight.

One of the most beautiful of all Italian piazze, with a splendid view of the valley below. Active during the day, haunting at night.

After passing through old narrow alleys, stores and cafes, we finally reached the piazza which is a contrast to Gubbio's alleys--huge and open. You can enjoy the panorama view of the old town below and the fields nearby, sit on the old stairs for a break or sip a coffee in one of the cafes beside the piazza. There are... More

Gubbio is an austere and hilly town, of of the beaten path but worth a visit. The Piazza Grande is at the top of the steep slope where Gubbio is built. Surrounded on 3 size by medieval palaces it opens on the town below and the valley. On a clear day you can see large part of Tuscany and Umbria.... More

Besides the historic significance of the Piazza, the view overlooking the city of Gubbio is spectacular.

Honestly, we were only in Gubbio for something to do on a chilly day that threatened rain. We were glad we went. It is a beautiful town with the Piazza Grande as the show piece. Two pieces of information: 1. The town is very steep and there are free elevators to get you from level-to-level. 2. Bathrooms are public pay... More

This is the first real top attraction of Gubbio, the city center, the famous Piazza Grande, a large square literally crowed of tourists at all hours of the day, a beautiful panoramic view from here down to see the Roman amphitheater , and the beautiful Palazzo dei Consoli that houses the museum. An idyllic atmosphere, all adorned this magnificent medieval... More

This place is the best place to show your talent when it comes to photography... Where you can see the whole city below... The beautiful tiles and the old rooftops...

We were staying near Perugia so did a day trip to Gubbio. This was made easy as we had a hire car, it also meant we could stop anytime we saw something interesting to photograph or even do short walks. The countryside was so green, with stone buildings and orchards, trees lined up along tops of hills. As soon as... More
