The cooking classes offer an informal, friendly blend of modern and traditional Italian cooking techniques using ingredients that are fresh and in season. Lessons include a market tour with gourmet tasting, the class held in the farmhouse professional kitchen and plenty sampling of the delicious food prepared by the students. The cooking school has received enthusiastic reviews in Tripadvisor as well as press in several publications like E.g. Food and Wine magazine. « less

During our honeymoon, my husband and I planed to take one cooking course with Letizia. We are going to open a vegan cafe and wanted to get some more recipes and ideas for our menu. The first course was so amazing that we've decided to take another one as soon as we finished it. Letizia customised the course to our... More

Dear Yael and Trammel, you visit here at Alla Madonna del Piatto has been a special one, thank you so much for having visited us atop our magical mountain! As you rightly say, Italian cuisine is not traditionally vegan, but I am happy and grateful to know that you have appreciated that around the family table of an Italian house... More

It seems that other reviewers have used up all the good words to describe the experience of cooking with Letizia in Assisi: excellent, unforgettable, highlight of an Italian visit, wonderful…but I’ll try to find a few more superlatives. My husband & I were in Italy for 3 fantastic weeks in March/April and our stay and cooking class at Alla Madonna... More

In Campagna Cooking class with Letizia was the highlight of our trip to the Umbrian region. What better way to experience Umbrian culture than through a home cooking Umbrian meal? The kitchen is clean and perfect in every way - and her house sits on top of the mountains of Assisi. From the kitchen you are overlooking all of Assisi... More

It was my first time having a cooking class with Letizia at her Agriturismo in Assisi. Everything was just perfect! Learning how cook special dishes, eating that great food we've prepared with Letizia, drinking good wines and smile a lot! Letizia know so much things of Italian cooking and not only. She is a wonderful host. Her kindness makes you... More

If you're interested in learning to cook rather than just execute a recipe, this is the class for you. Yes, you will prepare a delicious meal (that you will enjoy on a beautiful patio), but you will also learn skills that you will use every time you prepare Italian-style food - and even just in cooking generally. The informal, wineglass-in-hand... More

This was the highlight of my 2 week trip to Italy. I learned so much about making pasta and Letizia made if fun and also her teaching skills are so good that you know you can make the pasta dishes when you return home. If I return to Italy I would love stay at her bed and breakfast and enjoy... More

I honestly can't say enough about our day. We started with olive oil, salami, cheese, balsamic and truffle tasting. That should have been enough except that we moved on to Letizia's beautiful place where we had wine and juice on the terrace overlooking the hills of Assisi. When she was ready for us in the kitchen, she had everything ready,... More

I could rewrite the review of A Don't Miss Experience below but I really could not agree more and write it any better. I would add that if you are lucky enough to take a cooking class w Letizia Mattiacci @ Madonna del Piatto, it will be a most unforgettable experience even if you're a serious cook because it's way... My husband and I recently traveled to Italy and wanted an authentic cooking class experience. We wanted to be in a beautiful countryside setting and learn to make authentic Italian cuisine from scratch. If this is your criteria as well then look no further. Letizia's class was exactly what we were looking for. We met her, along with another couple,... More

Everything about our day with Letizia was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the food and wine shop, Terra Umbria, where we tasted and learned about Italian olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cheese and sausages. Delicious. Then on to her beautiful home with the most incredible view of Assisi and the surrounding area. We drank delicious wine, learned to make... More
