Share a day with an Italian family. Join Letizia for a half day, hands-on cookery course in her restored farmhouse in the Umbrian countryside. The cooking classes offer an informal, friendly blend of modern and traditional Italian cooking techniques using ingredients that are fresh and in season. Lessons include a free market tour with gourmet tasting, the class, held in the farmhouse professional kitchen and plenty sampling of the delicious food prepared by the students. The cooking school has received enthusiastic reviews in Tripadvisor as well as press in several publications like E.g. Food and Wine magazine, National Geographic and BBC TV.

In April my friends and I visited Italy for a long awaited trip. One of our group had contacted Letizia in advance to book our cooking class. It was early in the season and as it turned out we were the first group of the summer to visit. Letizia was a wonderful hostess and after a beautiful drive up the... More

We own a small vacation home in a town about an hour away from Letizia. Wanting to do something that was different, we made reservations for cooking school. It is well worth it. Letizia speaks very good English and is aware of our idiosyncrasies. Accepted as we were, we were led to her kitchen, offered a glass of wine, and... More

My wife & I just experienced one of our most memorable days here in Italy. Letizia's talent and incredible love for Italian cooking is phenomenal. My wife is Italian and we cook a lot of traditional dishes from southern Italy and Letizia introduced us to many new recipes and ideas. We can't wait to get back to California and start... More

We had 2 wonderful days with Letizia. Her depth of knowledge not only Italian but scientific was second to none. Her food was wonderful, her class had an easy flow and she imparted information seamlessly into the activity which made it more relevant. Letizia is a breath of fresh air, while being true to her Italian heritage and style she... More

It's not easy to find a talented chef who is also an excellent teacher but Letizia is such a person. Her class was informative and approachable for all skill levels. Her winsome personality is memorable. We had a cloudy day in Assisi but at Alla Madonna del Piatto the sun was shining! Highly recommend this to anyone.

My fiends and I were on a five week tour of Europe and spent a week in the Umbria area. These 4 days at Letizia's B&B were fabulous and the cooking class was the crown glory! Such a wonderful time. Inspired me so much that when I got home, I bought the scale, pasta machine, food processor & cake flour!... More

My husband and I traveled to the area of Umbria in October, 2014 for a true "food and wine experience". We used Barbara from Wine Link Italy as our tour guide, and she recommended Letizia's cooking class at Alla Madonna del Piatto. This cooking class was one of the highlights of our trip! Letizia was a warm and wonderful hostess.... More

During our honeymoon, my husband and I planed to take one cooking course with Letizia. We are going to open a vegan cafe and wanted to get some more recipes and ideas for our menu. The first course was so amazing that we've decided to take another one as soon as we finished it. Letizia customised the course to our... More

Dear Yael and Trammel, you visit here at Alla Madonna del Piatto has been a special one, thank you so much for having visited us atop our magical mountain! As you rightly say, Italian cuisine is not traditionally vegan, but I am happy and grateful to know that you have appreciated that around the family table of an Italian house... More

It seems that other reviewers have used up all the good words to describe the experience of cooking with Letizia in Assisi: excellent, unforgettable, highlight of an Italian visit, wonderful…but I’ll try to find a few more superlatives. My husband & I were in Italy for 3 fantastic weeks in March/April and our stay and cooking class at Alla Madonna... More

In Campagna Cooking class with Letizia was the highlight of our trip to the Umbrian region. What better way to experience Umbrian culture than through a home cooking Umbrian meal? The kitchen is clean and perfect in every way - and her house sits on top of the mountains of Assisi. From the kitchen you are overlooking all of Assisi... More
