We came across this little church by accident, strolling through the winding streets of Assisi. We looked in and it was a "breath of fresh air and inspiration". The music and the exhibition were perfect for the setting. Other reviewers describe better than me the sculptures, but the carving of Mary are just beautiful! A must visit, albeit for a... More

It was one of the most memorable churches I saw in Italy. Beautiful sculptures by Guido Dettoni Della Grazia.

The music and display match perfectly and the sculptures are delightful. Just a delightful 10 minute stop on the way through Assisi.

This is a small church a bit up the hill from Cathedral San Rufino. There is a nice view of the valley from this spot. Inside the church are 33 carvings of Mary in different woods from around the world. The 33 is symbolic of Jesus' years on Earth. A nice woman in the church explained how the form represents... More

Primary reason to visit is the artistic rendering of the Tau and a beautiful rendering of Maria, Dettoni della Grazia. You may purchase a copy. Nice piece of artwork and something to hold if you pray.

I found out about this from trip advisor. It was a moving experience!! Actually, they had just closed for their lunch break and the woman saw me and opened it back up for me and played the music. She took the time to let me in. She was in the car when she saw me, she did not have to... More

I am not particularly religious, but something happened to me in this beautiful small 16th century church. The Italian created installation inside constructed in a shape of the symbol alpha and with omega over-top (the beginning and the end). You can walk into and view the 33 different pieces of wood from all around the world, crafted in the shape... More

Going into the Santa Maria Della rosa was life changing. I am not sure if it was just the name that called me but it was very moving. I purchased a small Maria. That I keep with me every day. A must stop on you walk up to the church. A great day trip. I am glad I stopped.

This was a treat I never expected. Hard to describe how moving it is to hold the little sculptures is your hand.
