We needed the solace and solitude of a farmhouse retreat to separate us from the pious congestion of the town, so the untainted beauty of the surrounding nature's- playground where the saint had travelled, was perfect. Its a warm and gracious environment perfect for meditation. One feels the atmosphere change as we climbed Mt. Subiasco, from the heights of which... More

Arriving at the retreat farmhouse is like coming home. A lovely, well appointed kitchen where meals are prepared in simple silence, beautiful views of the quiet countryside, and the meditation room where the stone walls seem to breathe peace... How I love to return each year! Ruth and Bruce, although now in residence at the California retreat, have created a... More

In the peace and quiet of this place, I found solace in peace and spiritual renewal. The untainted beauty of nature and the history of the saints, both St. Francis and St. Clare live in the surrounding, making me feel holy and pure. I found myself more inclined to pray and be at peace with myself and the surrounding abounding... More

I stayed at the retreat in the hills of Assisi for 5 nights in late October, and I left feeling deeply moved by what was a very beautiful experience for me. I am positive of how the retreat has enlightened me, and I would advise the experience to anyone. In the deep stillness of the Assisi hermitage I was able... More

I spent 5 days at at Paradiso last week. I really enjoyed the retreat. There were only 2 of us here on this very personal retreat. Our retreat leader, Shari really looked after both myself and the other guest throughout our stay. It was my first meditation retreat and it really met my expectations. Shari was warm, caring and went... More

It is not possible to write in words how much beauty can you see in such a small place... I traveled with a group of friends, our stay was somewhat short, but it was worth it. There is much to see and experience! Tranquility and endless joy :)

All 5 in our group were so thankful we got to be here. We hadn't planned on it, but had hired a cab in City Center to take us to San Damiano and he mentioned going here too. It was a highlight. A friar who spoke perfect English gave us a beautiful explanation and we got to meet some of... More
