Entering this place is no picnic, pun intended. Lonely Planet sells it as a communal city garden, an oasis. They are so very wrong. It is privately owned, and exploited as such. Nobody is allowed to picnic, even if you have a backpack you are harassed walking through it to the point of feeling uncomfortable. Not worth the effort, even... More

The owner of our hotel informed us that this was a "special" place , when we eventually found it( we are rubbish at map reading) it was so tranquil.Peaceful, thought provoking and very beautiful. Its history adds to the intrigue, take a stroll it's well worth it.

a perfect weather gave us the possibility to spend many times in this beautiful garden. it is in the city center, just five minutes far from il Campo square. it is possible to have a walk in the beatiful garden, take exceptionally pictures of the mangia tour and enjoy a tastefully pizza at the restaurant. perfect indeed.

It's amazing to find this green space right in the heart of Siena. A community garden and orchard, with a small farm with charming goats, ducks, and a donkey or two. A restaurant with very nice classic Tuscan cooking.

An organic restaurant with a different view of Siena in the greenery of a Park/allotment. Menu was varied and the food was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pizza only served in late afternoon evening

Yes, the gardens are very nice with a pen for goats, ducks, and many other little creatures. But in the center of the park is an excellent local restaurant with unbeatable prices. We had two pizzas, two beers, and a coke for 22 euros! The pizza was excellent. They do foccacia, pizzas, calazones, etc. Service was excellent. If you're looking... More

I was so thrilled to have discovered these gardens. We stayed in a hotel just near the hospital (ancient psychiatric hospital) and found that we could walk through the grounds of the hospital into the gardens and through to the market place in the city. It is the most enchanting walk. As you round a corner you suddenly get a... More

There isn't much to say about this garden/park, it's a pleasant place for a picnic, especially if you want to avoid the somewhat expensive restaurants in the town centre. It's a favourite with families, and there is a nice view (though nothing like the view from the top of the tower in Piazza del Campo) of the city.

Nice place to visit especially with children! It is a park inside the city with bathrooms facilities, a little fee if you bring your own food and want to have a pick nick there, or you can eat in the restaurant there. Children can play soccer on the grass or enjoy the animals, there are goats, donkeys, gees.. A really... More
