This was definitely the highlight of the trip to Sienna. The floors are impressive as is the elaborately carved marble pulpit and wonderful surprise of a library. We visited in September when all the beautiful mosaic floors of the duomo were uncovered. I believe that the floors are only uncovered for approximately two months of the year in the August... more

I did not actually go inside the Duomo, but I walked around the outside of it. It was spectacular!! Amazing to think that a bunch of people back then could make such a beautiful structure. more
