One of our Favorite activities of our recent trip to Italy was attending the Tuscan Wine School in Siena. We are fairly well versed in wine, but do not know a lot about Italian wines, so it was a great learning experience. Sophia was interesting, fun and informative. We learned quite a lot We tasted 5 wines that represented the... More

My husband and I booked the Savor Siena tour and got more than we hoped for! Our guide was knowledgeable, funny, and helpful. We tasted several different types of foods from around Tuscany, including a walk to a local butcher, pasticceria, and gelateria. All were great quality and friendly service. The tour wrapped up with a taste of truffles, balsamic... More

Our son discovered the two hour noon food tour and we signed up on our first day in Siena. Lucky us! Smart son!! We were entertained and educated by energetic and delightful Sophia who taught us about wines, olive oils, vinegar, chocolate, gelato, meats and a variety of interesting stories with local color. This is a definite must do and... More

Last Monday at 4 p.m., I went to the Tuscan Wine School. Sophia taught us about history and the typical wines we can find in Tuscany as well as DOCG/DOC/IGT system. We tasted 6 types of wine starting from Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Reds including Brunello to Vin Santo to finish. It was highly educative and fun!

This was a very good 2 hour overview covering broadly Tuscan cheeses, wine, gelato, meats, pastries and balsamic vinegar, even some chocolate. We got to stroll to Bini's pastry, a nearby meat market where we sample wild boar, salami, etc, and a small but great gelato bars. A good first grounding in all thing Tuscan - do this early in... A very worthwhile way to spend two hours in Siena if you are interested in wine and some wine history. We loved it. Sophia is an excellent teacher. We had a wonderful time!

Thank you to Sophia for a great afternoon of food and wine. My husband and I attended. I'm Celiac and expected to participate in a minimal way. But Sophia found ways to safely include me in as many tastings as possible. She is high energy and very knowledgeable. Excellent experience.

Located right in the historic district of Siena and close to the Piazza del Campo this was an excellent introduction to the Tuscan Region. Sophia was outstanding and very passionate about what she does. Gave a great intro reviewing local food and a wine taste and then toured us in the immediate area. Got to first hand taste and learn... We were fortunate to aggregate Sophia all to ourselves for two hours of fun education, food, and wine. My husband is infinitely more educated than I about wine, but we both learned quite a bit and had a great time. Sophia is delightful! I'm so glad we chose to take the class. If you have time during your stay, definitely... More

Having a day to spare in Siena we thought that some local knowledge would be useful. We enrolled for the a Savour Sienna course held at midday. Our host Sophia was fun, charming and most informative. We know understand Tuscan food and history. Sophia also led us around Siena where we visited a local butcher, patisserie, and ice cream parlour... More
