Beautiful public park, with playground, old walls and ruins, water fountains and large areas for family picnics. You would never know you were in Pisa!
Some of the gardens were cordoned off because of building work, but none was taking place when we were there. The old city walls are interesting, but we couldn't go up on to them, again because of the on-going work. There is a nice children's playground in one part.
When I went large sections of the park were taped off and you could only walk through it. There was no access to the upper sections - the walls etc. - which was very disappointing as it looked like they could have provided some great views.
Pleasant gardens aimed more at families with small children....nice place to sit and escape the heat of the city...there are some new shelters with seats that are covered in Jasmine and Honeysuckle....worth the walk!
Romantic, old-style garden, dim, many beautiful greenery, lovely flowers, ruined walls. One of the most beautiful place I've ever been. There is also a playground for children.
We enjoyed wandering around the gardens but thought there would be a bit more to see, as it is a garden we thought there would be more flowers. We especially liked the Fortezza di San Gallo incorporated into the gardens and the bronze sculptures.
