Even though we were told go see th tower and move along, we took a walk through the centre of the city and everyone was right. Nothing in the city. The tower is worth seeing and if your in that area, I would see it but I wouldn't plan a day in Pisa. An hour max. more

We visited in November in pouring rain with reconstruction and it still cost us 15 eurs each to climb this 10 minute monument rip off the Duomo in florence is much more spectacular and costs only 8 euros- disappointing more

The whole square is magnificent at night - quiet, brooding, a bit eerie. You feel you have it all to yourself, with no crowds. (You can't climb the tower however.) more

We went to Pisa for the day whilst staying in Florence. It is very easy to get to and the tower is about 15 mins walk from the station. My husband and I had to go up separately since we had our 18 month old daughter with us and under 8's are not allowed up the tower. Tickets are 15... more

I went here only because it's a famous site and I completely expected to be underwhelmed. Surprise! I loved it. When you see it, you think, "Wow, that thing is really leaning." That might sound strange but you'll see. We climbed it which was entertaining - a bit like a funhouse with the tilt affecting you. Yeh, there are tons... more

Although the Square of Miracles was pleasant, this is the biggest tourist trap I have ever seen, and I am from Las Vegas, Nevada! It was surrounded and overcrowded by tons of tacky booths selling junk. The African vendors walking around were extremely rude, aggressive, and hostile. Whatever you do, don't be polite and say "No thank you", they will... more

So amazing to see something up close you have only seen in pics. Very impressive. Sit on the grass opposite and look at the view in the Tuscan sunshine, but dont pay £15 euro a head to go up it unless your really fit, and have a head for heights! more

We visited Pisa whilst on a mediteranean cruise. The city itself is very expensive for food and drink. We stopped at a small cafe in Pisa, had a beer and a bottle of sol larger, the bill was 16 euros, about £13. The attractions ie tower and museum are free to look at but if you wish to enter them... more

Pisa was never part of my itinerary, but my train passed through from the Cinque Terre to Siena. There is a luggage check at the station, and the tower & cathedral are an easy walk just across the river. Two hours is more than enough time to walk from the station and back, but if you plan to spend time... more

This was a great attraction to see. But there is relatively little else in Pisa to see, so like us most people just pop into the town by train to see the tour and leave after a few hours. it's an easy 15mins walk from the train station to the tower. Leave the main entrance and basically just keep going... more
