We found Pisa to be much more than we expected! The tower really is stunning and leans much more than is shown in photographs! We were not aware of all the other beautiful buildings surrounding the tower so these were an added benefit and we will spend much more time there when we visit again - which we will! The... More

We took the train from Lucca and stopped at Pisa, on our return trip to Florence. In Pisa where we walked several blocks to the Duomo, baptistery, and tower. The piazza was crammed with tourists, and we saw dozens of people posing as if to hold up the tower while a friend took their picture for the folks back home.... More

We were flying home from Pisa airport so visited the tower. Don't think its worth the 18 Euro entrance fee to climb the tower, not much to see when you get to the top. If you do want to go up you have to buy a ticket from the ticket office and then leave any bags in the room next... More

This is such an iconic site that it would be an absolute shame if you did not see it when you are in Pisa. It is like nothing else you will see anywhere. It ranks as one of the sites you should visit once in your lifetime. My colleague and I were here on business and first laid eyes on... More

Went to PISA by train from Lucca and spent the day in and around the area. We went up the tower, €18 each for 30 mins max but worth it to say we have done it. Wife went around the baptise chapel which she said was very disappointing, the cathedral was free and quite spectacular inside. Overall worth the visit... More

We all know the tower is a bucket list item - however, we enjoyed it from ground level during our visit because thunder storms were in the area. The Cathedral next to the Tower should be a bucket list item as well. Suggest going across the grass area to the new art museum to get free cathedral tickets for entry.... More

very beautiful tower but for 18 euros the only thing that it provides is the view from above. The tower inside is empty and i found the price high.

The first impression of the tower is that it's physical presence cannot be portrayed by photographs, and it is quite amazing to see quite how much it defies the perpendicular. We paid to go up the tower, the climb which was quite demanding, even the steps to the entrance hall give a clue to how difficult it is to walk... More

The tower is situated in a quite unremarkable shopping area in Pisa and seems to appear from nowhere. The lean on a tower of this size is quite bemusing and the history of the efforts taken to preserve it is fascinating. It can be enjoyed without climbing it but if you do go in be prepared for long queues. Don't... More
