This time we had the time (and access) to walk up to the top. That is a fairly energetic climb up the tilted tower steps and really can mess up one's sense of balance. But the view from the top is worth it. More

Some reviews show the tower separate from the Duomo and the Piazza dei Miracoli - it's all together. It's worth the climb to the top - great views. It's also worth going in the baptistery and basilica. Ask for an "echo demonstration" in the baptistery. More
