One of the many tourist attractions that Italy has to offer which must be visited at some point in one's lifetime. My visit was rather peachy as it was in June and the weather was lovely. Another bonus was that there weren't all that many tourists around. Steep entry fee but nice for the photo album. Another added bonus is... More

The Leaning Tower of Pisa its something unique and wonderful that you have to visit in a trip to Italy. Location wise, its not very easy to plan it. Its a few hours driving from Rome or Milan but you can easily take a train here but would cost you a hole day of your trip. But the trip its... More

It is what is it and it's the reason for visiting Pisa of course! The area around it is nice, the nicest part of Pisa I think. We spent hours just sitting around here, taking the obligatory cringe photos and laughing at other people doing the same. It's good fun and you'd be surprised how long you can spend doing... More

It is quite expensive to climb the tower (18 euros per person) but it is worth, there is a good view from the top of the tower and it is also interesting the feeling of climbing something leaning to one side.

Rather costly to get in at 18 euros just to climb the tower but it must be noted that this is one of the worlds best know places to visit therefore you will need to decided if you are going to pay this price to get into the tower

Even cooler in reality. If you're nearby, you certainly can't miss it. It can be seen from far away, but to really appreciate it (and pose ridiculously in front of it, as most people are wont to do), you must see it up close.

July 17, 2014 my family and I visited Pisa and Florence with RomeInLimo. We learned that the Leaning Tower of Pisa is a bell tower that was built in sand, which is not a strong foundation! This foundation was inadequate and caused the tower to lean. There have been several restorations, the final one was in 2001. The tower now... More

We didn't know until in Pisa that the leaning tower is the bell tower for the hugh cathedral there. There is also a beautiful baptistry there as well so the tower is just part of a big complex with lots to see. We had reserved tickets to climb the tower and felt it was worth the money. They limit the... More

At a cost of 72EUR for a family of 4 this is not a cheap excursion but you should do it having made the effort to get there in the first place. Views are amazing and you get an allocated time so it is not crowded in the tower. About 240 steps altogether so take it slowly and take a... More

The grounds and buildings are beautiful. The main church is an art lovers paradise. Many of the murals/paintings were painted by Rafael's students. You could get lost in their beauty. The Leaning Tower is open to the public and with the help of science it is still standing and being slowly righted, but will never be straight. That would destroy... More
