We did not stay in Pisa. As advised we were staying at Florence and took a train in the morning and reached Pisa in an hours time. This is truly one of the wonders of the world. The tower looks stunning. There is nothing else to see there so we were back by noon in Florence. Surely a place to... More

We could not catch the 19E Regional train to Pisa from Rome, took intercity which saved one hour at 15E extra cost. Bus ticket from pisa station to pisa tower cost 2E. Entrance fee to tower is 18E. Nothing big about climbing to the top. Have to leave all bags at the safebox next to ticket room. Pisa Basilica (free)... More

Booked tickets online so we just walked up to the ticket booth, showed our tickets and met our guide. Time worn steps led us up and had some great views on the top. It took us about 1/2 hr for the entire experience but well worth it!

The Leaning Tower is part of a larger complex. Some may not find it the most beautiful piece of architecture but it is definitely worth a visit. Some buildings don't live up to expectations. This one went beyond ours. It really really leans. See it.

We all know of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and, on occasions, these incredibly famous sites turn out to be a disappointment - not so La Torre di Pisa! A must if you're in the area. A climb up the tour is doable even if you're claustrophobic like me - plenty of light all the time. It's a slightly disorientating... More

We did not know that the leaning tower is just one part of a larger complex. The tower is actually the bell tower for the nearby cathedral and baptistery. Allow enough time to go inside the church there. Soak up 1000 years of history! Well worth the time. One caution....there is a market outside the walls of the complex. Be... More

Was lovely to go up to the top of the tower. Marbled steps all the way up. Didn't take too long. Bags etc must be left in baggage area which is good. Cost 15 euros which included a brief talk prior to going up. Great views of Pisa.

I had an extra day in Florence and so had to choose between the medieval walled hill city of Siena and the Learning Tower of Pisa. Both are about an hour away by train, both are highly recommended on Trip Advisor. I chose the Leaning Tower of Pisa mostly because the city is flat (no fortified city on a hill)... More

Its so worth making the climb. If you cant quite believe how much the tower leans you will be amazed when you climb the stairs. What an awesome feeling and the view from the top is stunning. Good english speaking guide with all the information you need outlining the history of the tower
