I did a lot of online research (Rome, Venice, Florence schools) before deciding on Lucca for my beginner's Italian lessons. Was impressed by the reviews of those who attended the Lucca school before I booked & found that and the whole experience not just met, but surpassed my expectations. It's a small school, not a particularly glamorous location, but only... More

I am lucky enough to have twice attended Lucca Italian School and can't recommend it highly enough. In fact, after my first visit I was so impressed, I wrote this article about it http://italytutto.com/lucca-is/. The teachers are fantastic and brilliant at building up one's confidence to start speaking Italian. The teaching methods are right up-to-date, and the school's website, blog,... More

I've had the pleasure of taking language lessons from several of the extremely competent teachers at LIS and also participated in film viewings and cooking classes. Eva and Daniela didn't make me cry once. ;^) Angelo's field trips are always interesting. I look forward to more visits to LIS in the future. More

Lucca Italian School is conveniently located just outside the ancient wall, easily accessible by bike or walking from anywhere in the historical center. The physical space of the school is bright and clean and open, the administration friendly, professional, and always accessible. While there for one month I had 3 different teachers. Each of them was extremely competent, friendly, and... More

The School was very prompt in answering my many questions before I enrolled. Enrolling was a breeze. Teachers are wonderful - and willing to change the lesson plans mid-stream, depending on what the student needs. Additional optional activities are also available. Best time in my advanced class - spending about an hour each day, discussing Italian life - in Italian!... More
