I spent 10 days at LIS Lucca Italian School and absolutely loved it. The teachers are very talented, personable, and fun! There were tons of opportunities to immerse ourselves in the language and in the Lucchese culture. After morning language classes, there were afternoon and evening activities such as cooking classes and visits to local wineries which allowed us to... More

I highly recommend Lucca Italian School! I just returned from Lucca, where in collaboration with Lucca Italian School, I organized a group to study at the school for 10 days. The teachers are all personable, welcoming and FUN! The classes are interesting and informative and we had plenty of conversation practice. My group had the best time immersing in language... More

Loved my two weeks at LIS. My instructors were great and I feel I made progress by learning some new things and also cementing some prior knowledge. The teachers and staff create a welcoming environment; I found my fellow students to be very supportive of everyone's efforts in class and I think this is due to the atmosphere that LIS... More

I moved to Lucca this year & headed straight to LIS due to recommendation of my Italian neighbour who works in the tourism area in this town. What a great experience I've had! Going from knowing only very basic italian to having basic conversations! All of the teachers are very patient & the techniques used are proved to be successful.

I am a beginner + student and studied at Lucca Italian School for 3 weeks. The best thing I can say is that I felt comfortable there. The teachers were friendly, experienced and patient. I liked their style of teaching combining listening, reading and speaking. They had several levels of classes to suit everyone's needs and abilities. Several times a week... More

We'd been studying Italian using the Fluenz computer course and spent a week in Lucca with 3 days of LIS's informal language classes. This consisted of 3 hours each day with our instructor Francesca (who is wonderful), first with some organized instruction in our rented apartment, then the rest of the time walking around the city talking. It was both... More

I went to LIS for a week in April/ May and that was a very pleasant experience. The teachers are very kind, motivated and experienced. The city is small but very enjoyable and nice-looking. I strongly recommend the experience!

With only a week to spare I studied the 'Italian Vacation' course with 8 hours of lessons a day and lunch with my teacher and I can safely say I was extremely impressed. Having studied at another school previously in Tuscany I was interested in this school due to its offer of practical lessons outside the classroom. These lessons were... More

I have had a house near Lucca for many years and have learnt to communicate in Italian fairly well, but with appalling grammar. 2 weeks of classes and 3 weeks of private lessons at the school have helped loosen my Italian tongue enormously. And the afternoon sessions were a revelation. I thought I knew Lucca fairly well, but the delightful... More
