We came to Lucca to experience the opera and it was everything we could have imagined. Fantastic way to spend an evening after walking around the antique markets. Well worth the visit.

We enjoyed the opera, not our normal thing, but the sound of the singers in the church was amazing, bought a tear to our eyes. Well worth doing. One thing the people putting this on could consider adjusting the lighting. The flood lights in the church we felt were too harsh and created no ambience. Candlelight would be a beautiful alternative.Just... More

my advice would be to never consider taking a car anywhere near this place. You will be entrapped by the many secret, out of sight and sneaky traffic cameras. 6 months after returning home I received 3 traffic violations totalling £210. I had obviously been unaware of the cameras when driving round to find a parking spot which I eventually... More

A lovely way to sample the music of Puccini, one of Lucca's most famous sons, in such a beautiful setting. The music is moving and to be so close to the performers certainly adds to the experience. Make sure you don't miss this whilst in the city.

Very intresting and with a good performance. Every day in the year. Not expensive and easy to by, it takes 1 hour.

I am not ashamed to admit that I was close to tears. From the opening bars of 'O mio babbino caro', we were captivated - not just by the sopranos (Clara Polito and Valentina Rugolo), not just by the precise, symphonic piano playing (Diego Fiorini) but by the rich acoustics in the historic setting. Our expectations were not that great... More

So funny that Lucca doesn't really seem to appreciate its most famous son. Nice concert though, operating every single day of the year. A must, I happen to think, to acknowledge Puccini whilst in this lovely city.

Sometimes these concerts in tourist cities are not of a good standard. Think Vienna where you have to ask and choose carefully. This concert in Lucca was of a high standard. I will go again this week (different programme every night) and I expect that to be of a high standard also. The pianist was excellent as well as the... More
