This international festival which aims to put on a performance every night is led by a dynamic artistic director. The evening we went, in the lovely old church of San Giovanni, two fine sopranos and an excellent accompanist treated us to Puccini's women. It was a delightful experience and a real accomplishment for a small town.

We wanted to experience all of Lucca and listening to the hour long Puccini Opera concert was a perfect finish to our trip to Lucca. We purchased our 2 tickets early and saved 8 euro. The opera singer voice's in the small restored church were unbelievably magical. Don't mis out on this experience.

The setting, Church of San Giovanni, the acoustics, the performance - in ascending order of brilliance: a must for tourist near this venue!

Most enjoyable first time at the opera - an hour was just right. Although it was 20 euros entrance fee - I thought it was excellent value. Lovely atmosphere in the church and we were all made very welcome. Thank you.

An excellent recital. Lasted 50 minutes and featured two singers performing arias from various Puccini operas. We were very close and the singers were lovely.

Attended the Puccini e la sua Lucca concert tonight in the Church of San Giovanni. Great acoustics with wonderful voices. A little pricy but worth it to hear Puccini sung in his home town.

Just wonderful! We'd listened to these arias countless times on CDs, but nothing could compare with hearing them in person. Beautiful setting. How special it was to find a Puccini concert with the most beautiful singing and piano playing right in the heart of Lucca, a town with great atmosphere and stunning buildings. It was a short concert but perfect to be followed by a gentle stroll and dinner with friends. It has been a highlight for us.
