This was one of the great treats of Lucca. The performance is an hour, inside of a church (great acoustics) and the performers are very talented. I highly recommend this.

What a find, an hour of wonderful music in a beautiful setting. 20 euros on the door, 18 if you buy in advance. We went on 2 nights, the program is different every night of the year. One of the evenings also included works by Verdi and Rossini. The is a great little bar, Enoteca caLasto, in the Piazza S. Giovanni to... More

Our hotel receptionist told us about the nightly 1 hour concert held at a church in central Lucca, featuring the music of the town's famous composer, Puccini. We visited the Church in the afternoon and booked a couple of tickets for the 7pm performance (18 euros per ticket) - the audience amounted to about 200 people and all were totally... More

What a glorious surprise. Every night of the year in the wonderful walled town of Lucca they perform a recital of Puccini's music. This is a definite "must do" when in the area. The performers showed such passion in their singing and being performed inside an old church just added to the atmosphere. You don't need to be an opera... More

This is one of the greatest attractions in Lucca, Italy. As Lucca was the birthplace of Puccini, it makes sense to highlight his work in this great town with nightly concerts. The concert is very intimate with 2 or 3 singers and a pianist. I've seen this performance now twice and each time it has been a bit different and... More

We were in Lucca with a friend and while we were admiring the beauty of Lucca we saw the publication of this performance. "Let's do it" we said to each other. With success. No regrets for this decision. It was a wonderful experience.

You don't need to be an opera buff to enjoy these concerts. It lasts just over an hour. The concert was in 2 parts with each soloist (tenor and baritone) singing 2 solos, a piano solo and a duet in each half. The performers were all fabulous with rich tuneful voices and the pianist was incredibly skilled! The venue was... More
