A 10-15 minute bus ride from the centre of Florence (Number 7), the little town of Fiesole is definitely worth a visit. A short but steep walk up the hill reveals the most stunning panoramic view of the city of Florence and surrounding Tuscan hills, as well as the Monastery of Saint Francesco (free entry), which includes a museum contain... If in Florence take the no 7 bus to Fiesole. It leaves Piazzo San Marco about every 20 mins. Tickets can be obtained from tobacco stall in square - the owner has very good English and is helpful. Bus terminus in main square and then returns to San Marco. Best views are from right hand side of bus. This small... More

Stopped in San Domenico for a light lunch and wow the views from all directions were just magnificent. It was also a nice place to buy a few pieces of jewellery hand made for a good friend back in Adelaide without being followed or hassled. Small friendly town of the Fiesole district and certainly worth a visit.

Easy busy ride on the no. 7 bus from the San Marco Church to this Estruscan hilltop town ... beautiful views of Florence. We chose not to sit at the group of restaurants on the hillside but found a wonderful little cafe/bar making wood-fired think pizzas and baking pastries ... and the best capuccinos. The Roman ampitheatre is impressive ...... More

A very easy bus ride (No. 7) from the San Marco church. 1.20 Euros gets you to this historic hilltop town, 25 minutes from the center of Florence. It's cooler, breezy and charming. If you go on Sat. there is an open air market in the square when you arrive. Follow the signs for the short hike up the steep... More

Very pleasant discovery of the Fiesole area; beautiful panoramic views of Florence from above. Easily accessed by public transportation and well worth the trip. The chuch of San Domenico was really nice; we were all pleasantly surprised.

By bus N° 7 or cab, or ...by foot, Fiesole and its 'Teatro Romano' are a must if you're staying in Florence. Then the Villa San Michele Hotel is the ideal address if you have the...budget (from Easter to end of October), to... soak up one of the most amazing panoramas of Florence. If the budget instead is not so... More

When you get tired of fighting the crowds in Florence, this is a great half day to a day activity only a bus hop away. Most tourists appear on Sunday, realizing that Florence's business are mostly closed on that day. We went on a Monday instead and very much enjoyed a quiet day, with wonderful views from this little hilltop... More

Nice little church at the top of Fiesole - good walk uphill to get there. Beautiful panorama on Florence. Church can be visited but not during prayer time.

Fiesole is a hill town about ten kilometers from Florence. Around midday, we took a hop-on-hop-off bus ride to reach the picturesque small town. The journey through the meandering hilly road with beautiful trees around was pleasing to the eyes.Olive orchards and umbrella pines looked great. The bus stopped for a while on a wide plateau with a statue of... More
