If you are looking for a different experience while staying in Florence, this is the place to go. I do not think many of the people taking the "typical tour bus tour" know of this place, however the "locals" do. The price includes dinner and show. The show venue varies. The food is actually quite good. Everything is in Italian.... More

For a unique experience, make sure you visit this restaurant theatre. The combination of a renaissance venue, great food and a quality performance is unique. We were there on 10th June where Francesca Andreoni was singing with Matteo Addabbo and his group. What a classy act, what delicious food, all presented with great flair. Bravissimi!

Dinner theater in concept; quite a production in reality. Starts at 1930; arrive at 1915. Theater open all day for ticket sales, etc. Credit cards accepter. It has a full shop selling sauces, wines, ties, etc. Or can buy tickets right before production. Arrival: When entrance opens at 1930, everyone dashes for seats. Comfy chairs at tables for two go... Very tasty food served funnily, in the theatre style in an old theatre hall. You get the feeling that you belong in some secret circle of culinarists!

We do not speak Italian but love theatre so we bought tickets for the evening performance at this UNIQUE theatre!! Much to our delight, the performance was preceded by a feast divided into courses each dramatically announced by the presiding chef! The theatre itself is in a 14th century hall with a grand kitchen behind a window on the right.... More

My wife and I went to Teatro del Sale on September 2011 after reading great reviews about it online. We took a cab from our hotel and were dropped off at a nearby piazza. We waited for it to open and had some drinks while we people watched. It was very cool because we seemed to be the only tourists... More

We learned about the Teatro del Sale from Emily Wise Miller's very useful book "The Food Lover's Guide to Florence." My wife and I have gone to the Teatro twice now; it is our favorite place for food and entertainment in Florence. On both occasions, we walked over to the box office earlier in the week, signed up for membership,... More

If you're visiting Florence, you really HAVE to go here. You will not be dissapointed. Walk up earlier in the day and pay for a "membership" and then schedule which night you'd like to come. It has a truly old fashioned italian food atmosphere about it. The value (even with the membership) is incredible. Try to go on a night... More

I went to il Teatro del Sale for brunch. The food was excellent, the place is very characteristic, the staff are friendly, but most of all this is a unique experience! The restaurant is an old theatre so the tables are actually where the stalls would be. The decor is very basic and almost primitive...it is almost like eating in... More

We visited in September 2010 on the recommendation of a Florentine friend. The restaurant itself is set in an old theatre (hence the name) and has a lovely old fashioned feel about it. There are numerous nooks and crannies where you can sit and dine. We sat in the main hall, but if you prefer a little more privacy you... More
