If you are into the history of art it is a treat but if you expect to see the works of da Vinci or Chagall you may be dissappointed... There are thousands of paintings and sculptures and kilometers (the corridor is literally 1km long) of walking so after an hour I could not tell the difference between tempera and oil... More

Understood that Vasari Corridor was only recently opened for guided tours. Glad I joined. One literally retraces the covered/protected path the Medicis took from their Palazzo Pitti to the Uffizi. Even if one is not interesting in the portraits that line the corridor, there are interesting look-outs especially when the corridor crosses the Arno over the Ponte Vecchio.

You can admire it from outside, recognize that it is what the Medici Family used to get to and from the palace and residences so their enemies didn't know where they were, but to my knowledge it is not open to tourists.

Interesting tour through the corridor. Most all self portraits of the artists that traveled to Florence. Wanted to see other artwork. I thought it was somewhat limiting.

We had just toured the Accademia and other than awesome sight of David, we had no idea what the significance of all the other art, sculpture and artifacts that were present. It's completely different when you take a tour. We were fortunate to a have beautiful young lady named Eliza in our Florencetown.com tour and she had a passion for... More

If you have the money to spare, it is still worth while... but ... The guide company we used (exclusive connection) did a terrible job of offering a meaningful and intelligent tour of this newly opened and incredible gallery. A bit of explanation... the corridor was build by the Medici as a secret passage way from their offices in the... More

What makes this visit so interesting, is that you can separate off from the hordes and get a special guided tour of a very special collection. The art in the main museum is better, but the history of the corridor, the selection, and the suprise at the end (at least for me)--a very interesting collective of self-portraits by very prominent... We purchased tickets ahead and with a guide. The guide didn't come, but of course we had escorts. It would be nice to have someone to talk to us about the art we were seeing.

This "secret" passage over the top of the Ponte Vecchio is so interesting. Most people don't seem to know it's even there - until you point out that there is a second floor in all the pictures of the bridge! The artist/architect/art historian Giorgio Vasari was the designer of the Corridoio Vasariano, and it's a really special thing to experience... More

For us foriegners who non parlo Italiano Lucia Montuschi spoke very good English there was not the hard to understand English of some of the larger tours. Lucia was very fluent and a delight to listen to with her Italian accent. Her knowledge of the corridor and it's amazing collection of paintings was fabulous, to us mere mortals Lucia has... More
