Beautiful view of Florence, especially at sunset. A bit of a walk, but absolutely worth the effort. Cross the Ponte Vecchio, turn left and walk along the Arno. Free, and you won't forget it!

I will say nothing new but really stress the fact that it is the best view of town. The al fresco bar is a nice way to add Bellinis to a romantic or scenic sunset. Great chill out music.

Great walk from across the river. We went right before sunset and the views of the city are breathtaking. There were alot of people and alot of vendors there. I have visited in the 1980s and do not remember so many-they take away from the beauty of the sight for me. Be sure to visit the church of San Miniato... More

Always fun to go to but don't go if this it hazy. It is one of the best views of Florence outside of Boboli Gardens. There will be crowd at sunset but it is too pretty to pass up Florence at this time.

We walked up from the Oltrano, past Galileo's house, down the outside of the wall, up again past a rose garden (with some very interesting contemporary sculptures) and into the Piazza, and then on to San Minato. The views were absolutely fabulous and it is wonderful to see the city at your feet.
