Owner description: This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

Amazing view of landmark sights in Florence, you can see nearly everything! The actual michelangelo statue is not worth the trek alone, as I found it a bit underwhelming especially as it's basically a statue in the middle of a car park! It's a shame that the place is essentially a car park with many people trying to flog souvenirs... More

One of my favourite places in Florence. Very easy to reach and you won't find a better spot for pictures. I would say it's the number 1 thing to visit in Florence.

The walk up through the old city gate to the Piazzale Michelangelo, though steep, is well worth the effort as the sunset views over Florence are stunning, and it's free. Don't leave it to the last minute to go as the best photo spots are always crowded. If you arrive a little early, there are great buskers to entertain you... More

As many others have noted, it's worth the trek to go up here and look around for a bit. An underrated plan is to look the opposite way of the city, along the river, for a wonderful Tuscan landscape shot. Obviously there will be crowds up here but it's gorgeous.

We just loved walking up to this fantastic lookout with spectacular views all over Florence. It was easy to get to and there were buskers and the usual street vendors at the top as well to add colour to the experience. A must for all visitors to Florence.

I love taking pictures of brides when we travel - and we found two with beautiful gowns here. The views of Florence are spectacular! We climbed up the stairs on the way up and then when down the curvy street on the way back - after visiting the Basilica of San Minate Al Monte. Make sure you go on a... More

Just walk a bit to have the best postcard pix of your stay! If you are in spring, you can enjoy the flowers expo taking place in the garden at footsteps of the Piazzale.

At the end of a busy day we climbed up to this attraction and it was well worth it. The view over Florence at sunset is absolutely beautiful and we spent a lot of time there just admiring the view. It was a perfect way to spend our last evening in Florence and is highly recommended.

View the entire city from here, for free. You cannot go to Florence without visiting this place. You have an unobstructed view of the whole city and you can see the sights and take great pics.

This is the best place to take pictures from the city. If you reach it on foot prepare to climb some good steps
