Owner description: This 19th century piazza has undoubtedly the best panoramic view of Florence. The square is decorated with copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, but it's the view people come here to see.

Piazza Michelangelo offers great views of Florence. We brought our lunch and a bottle of wine and had a picnic. Besides the views, there are vendors selling a variety of merchandise, and a restaurant. Worth the hike up the many steps.

We got off the hop on bus here, and spent half an hour just enjoying the view. We then decided to walk down to the river, there are good paths, we quickly descended rather than wait nearly an hour for the next bus. It would probably be jam packed in summer though.

I enjoyed stopping at the Pizzale Michelangelo after I visited Florence as it is funbe able to identify the landmarks. You can get some good photos of yourself with The Duomo in the background. Also I found this is the best place to buy folding umbrellas with art scenes (Botticelli, Raphael, etc) and scenes of Florence. They are just 5euro here,... More

We were there in the afternoon and we saw the whole city. It was amazing! The locals said in the night, when you are seeing the lights is the best time to see it, but we haven't enough time to do it.

A hilly climb to fresh air and breathtaking views. If you want the Florentine postcard experience, this is a must.

Mid-afternoon and we weren't sure we would manage the hike from Ponte Vecchio before dusk - however, with a pleasant stroll along the river to Piazza Guiseppe Poggi and then a climb up the meandering steps and walks to the Piazzale, it proved so worthwhile. The setting sun came out to make the city sparkle. Of course the souvenir street... More

Just nice view from this square. If you come here by bus N12, you may like viale galileo. but it is my subjective opinion

It took my husband and I approximately 25 minutes to walk the steep hill and steps but totally worth it. The views at night are amazing and make awesome photos.

Hiked up at night and saw exquisite views of the duomo etc . Quite dramatic. If course beautiful views in daytime and also at sunset. Be prepared for a pulse accelerating walk up(maybe 20 minutes?) safe at nighttime but just use caution crossing the road in spots as those who choose to drive up can come whipping around the turns.
