Strong drinks with a smile.

Very lovely place, perfect for beer lovers + snacks are cheap. It's my second time being here and it deserves 5/5. Ask for German red beer.

The Joshua Tree Pub is awesome!! It's a sweet dive bar often with live music. Just happened to stop in with a friend and we stayed until closing. I was in Florence for a month and everyone there became my friends... great people and a great mix of both travelers and locals. Great place to meet people and make friends,... More

We stopped in for a beer, they have a pretty good selection, and ended up staying till 1am. We met all sorts of people locals and tourists. I'm glad we stopped in, it was pretty busy for a Sunday night.

The Joshua Tree, aka the place we stop for the 1st beer on the post work walk into town. Firstly, understand this is, I guess, neither Italian or a pub, but a decent drinking hole. The happy hour prices are all good but often the single bartender will either be outside or over worked, so the service can suffer a... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
