A bit of a let down

Went to Zoe's with the express intent of partaking of the evening buffet that has been well reviewed by other Trip Advisors. When we arrived the greeting was very lukewarm and we... read more

After nearly 4 hours at the Uffizi we strolled across the Arno for a late lunch and came across Zoe. We should have checked TripAdvisor before walking in! Menus and bread arrived relatively quickly but then the waitstaff disappeared, occasionally running by but avoiding eye contact. After more than 15 minutes of this we walked out. Not sure what the... We had been for a walk earlier in the day to find Zoe so we went there on our last night in Florence. It has a great atmosphere and great staff. It was also nice to be eating outside in the evening in September. We both had a lovely meal, shared a pudding and had a couple of glasses of... More

So. Please let it be known that I felt so strongly about this terrible ace that I downloaded the trip advisor app with our hotels less than speedy wifi. After visiting an awesome hookah bar in Munich we thought that going to Zoe would be a fun relaxing and to our night. We were VERY wrong. Firstly the drink minimum.... More

I am currently sitting at Zoe and if you happen to pass Zoe on your way down from Michelangelo Piazzo...keep on going. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but everything here was terrible. My friend ordered the linguine with Prawns. Her noodles were not cooked and she did not get any prawns, just tiny Shrimps. She sent it back... More

We arrived and sat outside. The waitress immediately acknowledged us and gave us a menu but from there on in the service as appalling. We went inside to order and still nothing. We asked the waitress outside, the same one who gave us the menu, still no drinks turned up. It wasn't particularly busy and other people were getting drinks... More

Went to Zoe's with the express intent of partaking of the evening buffet that has been well reviewed by other Trip Advisors. When we arrived the greeting was very lukewarm and we were shown to a table inside with little charm or grace and given some drinks menus with no mention of the buffet or asking if we would be... Not even poor service, but no service at all . Waitress too busy with beautiful youngsters, simply not noticing anyone over 25 years of age. Even after asking inside at the bar, nothing happens. Only single advantage: being ignored is for free!

After climbing to the Piazzale Michelangelo my boyfriend and I were hungry. It was inbetween lunch and dinner and we were having trouble finding an appealing looking place. At first glance this place was pretty busy for the off hour. There is a nice patio outside on the sidewalk or a large seating are inside. We sat outside and were... More

Ordered chicken curry with Basmati rice. The curry came without the rice - they were out. My partner ordered pasta with asparagus. It came without asparagus - they were out of that too (during the peak of asparagus season!). We politely refused both dishes within sight of the chef. The service suddenly turned very sour. We were treated like tourists,... More

Sat at the bar being served by the bartender, very friendly, really enjoyed the experience Great knowledge, asked what Gin I prefer in my martini which is great customer service. I don't know what the service was like at a table but it seemed very busy with lots of locals.

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighborhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
