The stairway is narrow in many areas so don't do it if you're claustrophobic. If you can take it as well as the many stairs, the view inside as well as the view outside is awesome! More

I loved the climb to the top of the dome. There are a lot of steps but it is so worth it. We went early in the morning, and there was no one else in line to go up. You do have to pay to do this, but it is worth the money. More

We got there around 10 am. The line was around the church. We had read in a book to go buy tickets for a tour in the museum which is located behind the Duomo. It was money well spent!! We were able to go look at other sights and grab lunch, then just show up at our appointed time and... More

The climb to the top of the Duomo is not for those with claustrophobia or vertigo but if you are reasonably fit it is a very rewarding climb. The view across to the Tuscan hills is absolutely gorgeous. What a pity that so many fools feel the need to deface the walk with their graffiti. More
