Excellent professional class, with special attention to our daughter with celiac.

Marcella kept up great communication with emails and texts. She met us at our hotel and took us to market. A great education. We had never had a rooster before. Fresh is best. Simple and delicious. Marcella has excellent experience and really knows her craft. Well-informed regarding allergies, and accommodating for our daughter who must avoid gluten due to celiac.... More

My husband and I first took a class with Marcella in September 2013, and we had so much fun -- and learned so much -- that we wanted to take another class when we returned to Florence in May. Since we knew what to expect, it made our second visit even better. The food was, of course, magnificent. Marcella taught... More

Antonella, our wonderful cooking instructor, gave us a detailed lesson in Italian cooking with a menu of our choice! We loved the shellfish pasta, artichoke ravioli, eggplant parmigiana (the real kind!) From her Sicilian background and expertise. Our college son and daughter really enjoyed making their favorites from scratch! Our instructor was very patient and detailed...we look forward to repeating... More

My two daughters and I went for a 3 hour cooking class with Marcella and made 2 different types or risottos, a cauliflower flan with a cheese fondue, calamari fritti and tiramisu. We had a lovely time, learned a lot, did a lot and shared an excellent meal at the end. A great experience, to be recommended!

We (3 couples) spent an evening with the wondrous and fascinating Marcella who taught us pasta making and other dishes while she oversaw the other preparations as we made dinner. The details of the meal aren't as important as the experience was - being taught by a gracious and talented teacher who made us all into master chefs - at... More

The private cooking class we did with Marcella was by far the best thing we did in Florence. She was extremely knowledgable, well prepared, patient, and hospitable. We made three amazing recipes and enjoyed them with her at the end of class. We learned a ton, not only about the recipes we were making, but about the principles and techniques... More

Fantastic three hours making three different kinds of pasta. Antonella was our chef and she was very helpful and in a good mood. The bonus part was that we were alone with her, even though it was an open class.

My daughter and I had a fabulous day cooking (and eating and drinking!!) with Marcella! We learned so many wonderful cooking techniques and loved every minute of it! I was even able to return home and make the most delicious homemade pasta! I highly recommend Marcella and the Giglio Cooking School!!

This was a SUPERB cooking lesson, an immensely enjoyable afternoon, and a delicious meal, all in one !! - We booked this lesson for three of us, all American, all pretty novice in the kitchen, and VERY novice regarding Italian cooking. - The price of the lesson was very reasonable, and compared favorably to other seemingly similar lessons. That said,... More

As a foodie and veteran of many cooking classes all over Italy, I was delighted to find Chef Marcella Ansaldo in Florence. I was looking for a unique cooking experience for my friends and I found it at Giglio Cooking School. Marcella arranged a class for just the three of us in her wonderful kitchen/dinning room space located in a... More
