Marcella's cookery course is a great way to learn about "proper" Italian food. We learnt how to make 3 different types of pasta and a tiramisu as Marcella very kindly allowed us to choose our own menu. The kitchen is large and would fit a large group in, there were only 3 of us so we had plenty of room.... More

Spoiler alert: This review may be biased. After attending cooking school, Marcella made my daughter the subject of her blog. http://gigliocooking.blogspot.it/2013/03/she-will-go-far.html After six days of touring the artifacts and art of Florence, Marcella’s cooking school was the interactive activity our family needed. Upon arrival at the address, we entered the architectural firm at 6 via del Ghirlandaio instead of 6B.... More

Our family of 6 truly enjoyed learning how to make taglietelli, tomato sauce, chicken cacciatore and cannolis with Marcella. Our children range in age from 6 to 13, and all were interested and involved, and loved eating what we made. Marcella was able to involve everyone, and we all learned something. I love to cook and bake, and learned many... More

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of learning how to cook some local cuisine courtesy of Giglio cooking. What a brilliant and fun experience. Marcella was lovely and a very good teacher. The resulting food was by far the best we had in Florence during our 4 day stay! Thanks Marcella! I would definitely recommend this too anyone... More

We did a mini vegetable course, so cozy and we both liked it a lot. Francesca is such a nice warm teacher. If I come back again, I will take more courses! Ps, also get some ideas on how an ideal kitchen look like:)

A great way for our large family, 6 and 1 boyfriend to cook together. Marcella was very patient even after my 18 year old son, set a kitchen mitt on fire. The food was fabulous. We made Seafood Risotto, Sea Bream with artichokes and a beautiful fruit tart. The location was an easy walk from the Four Seasons hotel.

After researching cooking classes in and around Florence, we were thrilled to have spent our 25th anniversary with Marcella! Her sweet, patient, informative way of instructing was one of the highlights of our trip. The school is modern and clean. The list of choices is incredible. I told her my husband loves gnocchi and eggplant- she made up an eggplant... More

This was an amazing experience. 2 couples, wives good cooks, husbands real beginners and we all had a fantastic time, learned something, and ate the fruits of our labors. Marcella is an absolute pro, but patient, kind, knowledgeable and flexible. She was able to deal with one dietary restriction we had and still gave us amazing results. We repeated the... More

What a wonderful surprise to have found Marcella and her Cooking School. After extensive research and reading reviews we selected Marcella's school because it didn't appear to be a tourist oriented cooking class..........and it wasn't. My wife Linda and I had the privilege of a private 3 hour lesson and then another wonderful hour of enjoying the meal we prepared... More

My husband and I wanted to do a one day cooking class in Florence and really enjoyed the class offered by Marcella at Giglio Cooking. The best part is that you get to customise your own menu of what you'd like to cook from a huge list of dishes, including appetizers, first and second courses and dessert! We were really... More
