As a foodie and veteran of many cooking classes all over Italy, I was delighted to find Chef Marcella Ansaldo in Florence. I was looking for a unique cooking experience for my friends and I found it at Giglio Cooking School. Marcella arranged a class for just the three of us in her wonderful kitchen/dinning room space located in a... More

I spent time at Marcella's over three days, with her and then with Giovanni, the pastry chef. My experience was amazing. I had chosen a number of items that I wanted to learn how to make, some of which were very challenging. We worked together, Marcella guiding me as I made pasta and filleted the fish, made a wonderful assortment... More

This was a highlight for our trip to Italy. Our kids love to cook and this was a huge hit! Marcella was just wonderful. She has an incredible collection of recipes to choose from. We made fried squash blossoms, octopus salad, fresh clam pasta, and tiramisu. Hands down the best food we ate (and made) in Italy and trust me,... More

Whilst in Florence last December, my Husband and I spent an afternoon with the wonderful Marcella. My husband has a passion for cooking and learning from Marcella was one of the highlights of our stay. Marcella is a very friendly, professional and generous teacher who imparts her vast knowledge in a fun and practical way. We learnt so much from... More

This was my 6th trip to Florence and I had never experienced a cooking class. I was looking for a half-day class for my mom, sister and myself and found Giglio through wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor. What an incredible experience! The three of us were placed in a class with two other people who were taking a month long cooking... More

My wedding party had an entire week of activites and this was one of the best! While most wanted to just "drink wine" Marcella was so good they actually got interested in the cooking. The meal they prepared was delicious and we learned something in the meantime. It was very hands on and extremely interesting even for people who don't... More

We scheduled two sessions with Marcella while we were in Florence. We had three in our group, my husband, son and I. We were able to chose what we wanted to cook and she taught us in such a way that I am able to replicate at home. It is very hands on, all the way through eating what we... More

Marcella blended the right amount of cooking, technique and advice for our private group of 3 on a Monday night in Florence. She is open to whatever you would like to create from her extensive menu. We hadn't made fresh pasta before so she had us make that. Along with a sauce, pork with mushroom sauce, and a fruit tart... More

We had the best day learning, laughing, cooking, and eating with Marcella. I researched cooking classes quite a bit before deciding to use the Giglio cooking school. I wanted a hands on cooking class where I got to make the food, not watch others do it for me. This was the real deal. Marcella loves what she does and is... More

We took this course because it allowed us to choose our own recipes and menu, so we could learn what we wanted to learn. Marcella is charming and an excellent teacher. We loved it
