What do you expect? Being in the Piazza del Duomo for lunch and find great food and low prices? Your in the middle of the tourist area, so forget great prices. The food will not dazzle you either, but you pay for the view. The people-watching is almost worth the expensive lunch!

Fun just to hangout and watch the tourists. Watch the gypsy women and the illegal street vendors though. I found when approached and a kind 'no thank you' doesn't work just give them a firm 'NO!' does.

Out of all of the piazzas, this one was my favorite. I'm probably biased though, because our hotel was right around the corner. It's really just a big open plaza with shops, restaurants, and vendors, but it's a great place to grab a coffee and people-watch.

Must see - simply overwhelming. You cannot get tired of admiring the intricate marble work on all the buildings on the Piazza. We were lucky to be there later in the day with relativel few people on the Piazza and it made the visit even more enjoyable.

Brillant piazza with views of the Duomo and Campanile di Giotto. large enough to cope with the crowds who love to visit to see such a fantastic sight, a must for any traveller.

This is a great place to view the Duomo. Be careful by all the street vendor or panhandlers. Its always crowded with tourist, so no worries.

the Piazza del Duomo (church) is fascinating. Seeing three buildings built almost a thousand years apart, but having the same marble coloring is amazing. We did a walking tour of this a P

This is a great view of the Duomo et al, but tons of street rats, weird car traffic and construction took a little of the charm away.

This is a wonderful place to stop and take it all in. As my first glimpse of Florence, I was taken back by all her beauty - just as she was all those many years ago. Many great shops near by!

Well worth spending time in the Piazza. Loads of shopping and jaw dropping photographs to be taken...
