How could anyone come to Florence and not visit one of the greatest works of art in history by possibly the greatest Renaissance artist? What else is there to say!

Don't get me wrong.... It is awe inspiring to see the original work, but no photography is allowed of the man inside. Plus sorta felt like a cattle call. Lots of milling, no true calm enjoyment of the sculptural beauty. I suggest you take your pictures at the multiple other David's . Start with the one right outside the entrance... More

Ignore the negative reviews. I like the gallery. It may be small, but contains beautiful artwork, including the breathtaking David. That statue is so beautiful, I cannot even remember if we waited in a line. Must see!

Don't think that once you've seen the copy in the Piazza Signoria that you don't need to see the real thing. You'll be AMAZED at the difference.

the statue of david was amazing but the other pieces were rather random and did not have the same wow factor as the statue although the queue was long it did go quickly only 20 mins

We went about midday and had to wait for a while (30-40 minutes) but it was well worth it. The cost was pretty steep but it really is a must see. I recommend making a reservation (line is shorter) and going early in the day

If you visit Florence, then you have to visit the Accademia and look at the Statue of David. What a site.

We bought our tickets late afternoon one day from the reservation office opposite and it was well worth the extra 4 euros to reserve a specific time. Although the crowds looked huge the next day we only waited 15 minutes and got in bang on our allocated time. We found David easily and really enjoyed taking our time to sit... More
