The perfect setting back in the mountains yet still only 15 minutes from the heart of Florence. Great accommodations, great hosts, great visit. This was our second time back, and we know we will be back again.

On the hills around Florence Villa Gamberaia boasts sweeping views over Florence and the Arno valley and sits amidst a spectacular Renaissance Garden. You can get there from Piazza San Marco with Bus nr.10 and then a short walk. www.villagamberaia.com

We caught the bus from Florence, which was very pleasant and easy, and walked the short way to the garden, which was a lovel walk. The garden was very well tended, and had amazing views over Florence, and the surrounding coutryside. Lovely way to spend a morning!

We loved visiting this garden. There are beautiful views over Florence. We went in late April and so there weren't many flowers in bloom, though there was a very peaceful atmosphere.

We heard about this Villa, probably on tripadvisor website, and decided to visit. We took the bus from Florence which arrived at the village Settignano in about 25 minutes.
