There are some great paintings, however the whole experience was a very bad one. I did not make a prebooking reservation and I was told it is better to go there early in order not to wait long. I went there at 9 clock and I had to wait in the queue for 3 and a half hours to get... more

Our trip to the Galleria degli Uffizi began with a wait in the wrong entrance line. We had prepaid vouchers and were told to go into the prepaid ticket line. Once we got to the door we were told that we had to go to a different line to turn our vouchers in for tickets. So, just be informed that... more

Don't bother taking water with you as they confiscate it on the way in and you have to leave your bags in the cloakroom. There is a cafe inside but it is expensive - around 3 Euros for a bottle of water (annoying if you've had to dispose of your water on the way in). If you are are heavily... more

I visited the Uffizi with my mother who had severe arthritis and walks very slowly with a stick. When we arrived at the gallery we were shocked to see the size of the queue. My mother is unable to stand for long periods of time. Seeing our difficulty a member of gate staff ushered us through the barrier and directed... more

It's definitely worth the few extra bucks. Or else, expect to stand for 2 hours in line. There are lots not to be missed. Part of the museum is under renovation, but it probably needs constant repairs due to its age. The Ponte Vecchio can actually be photographed clearly at the museum corner. There is a post office at the... more

If you want to see Uffizi you will have to do some waiting. You have to make a reservation if you want to be sure to get in. (waiting lines for people without reservation seem endless) We made a reservation in a local tourist information center but still we had to do some waiting. First we had to take the... more

I was there at the end of February. Didn't make reservations - started standing in line around 1pm. It took 1hr of lining up before I got in. It was freezing cold in the winter and the line was that long - I can't imagine what it is like during the high season in warmer months. Definitely reserve a spot... more

Oddly, and we found this just about everywhere in Florence, as you leave the museum you can buy a cheap and informative guide to it's contents... Not very useful. We had the Rough Guide and a good tour guide from Viator; both of which provided a context to pieces and brought our attention to details we would have otherwise missed.... more

I just found this to be a typical museum full of paintings and a few busts. IT didn't compare at all to the vatican museum. more

i went to Uffizi on a 7 October 2008 (a tuesday). Without a reservation (which will incur an extra fee of 4 euros), i arrived at 8:35am with about 30-40 people in front of me. The queue moved really slow. I managed to get in at around 9.40am. I found the time for the queue was acceptable. Maybe October is... more
