I was there at the end of February. Didn't make reservations - started standing in line around 1pm. It took 1hr of lining up before I got in. Oddly, and we found this just about everywhere in Florence, as you leave the museum you can buy a cheap and informative guide to it's contents... Not very useful. We had the Rough Guide and a good tour guide from Viator; both of which provided a context to pieces and brought our attention to details we would have otherwise missed.... more

I just found this to be a typical museum full of paintings and a few busts. IT didn't compare at all to the vatican museum. more

i went to Uffizi on a 7 October 2008 (a tuesday). Without a reservation (which will incur an extra fee of 4 euros), i arrived at 8:35am with about 30-40 people in front of me.
