Owner description: “Famous” Chef Giovanni leads the Food&Wine Academy of Florence assisted by young and dynamic Andrea. Cooking Classes are given in a typical Tuscan space, next to the central market where you first go grocery shopping. Put your hands-on to create your own meal, driven by the expert and super fun hosts as you sing along Italian songs and taste Chianti wine. Bruschettas, fresh-made pasta from scratch and tiramisu.. are the way to your Graduation Certificate!

We took the Market Tour and Cooking Class, and had a great time. Our first stop was at the Mercato Centrale, which is quite large and amazing. There wasn't time to see it all, but Chef David did a great job talking about some of the highlights, including various meats and products, and how they are used in Italy. We... More

My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our market tour and cooking class, where we learned how to make fresh pasta and tiramisu. We've repeated the recipes we learned a couple of times successfully - absolutely delicious food but so easy to make! The instructors were engaging, passionate about Italian food, helpful and funny. Definitely an activity I would recommend to... More

For some reason, it is hard to find interesting things to do at night in central Florence. I'm glad I ran across information of the Pizza and Gelato class. I signed up for the Class at my hotel and it was a good experience. If you want to use a credit card, book with the cooking program directly, rather than... More

Our teacher David did a fantastic job. First we went to the gorgeous market and discussed the various meat and poultry used in Florence. Then we went to the professional kitchen and made pasta (ravioli and Bolognese), had crostini, cheese and wine, and made terrific tiramisu. It was just a marvelous, memorable day.

My Mom and took the class together and had a great time - we met a lot of nice people and really enjoyed the instructors. Alex and Julio did a fantastic job. They were funny, personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the class to anyone who wants a few basic Italian recipes to try at home.

My husband and I participated in Wine Academy in Florence! It was amazing. Virginia was our tour guide and she was fantastic! She is knowledgeable, personable and a lot of fun! We had a wonderful time tasting and learning about Italian wine! The food was also delicious. If I ever go back to Florence I would definitely do it again!

Good direction and hands on experience especially for pasta dough and handling dough for pasta and ravioli. Creative suggestions to allow personal preferences within the recipe or allowing for available ingredients. I thought 5 hours would be too long but the time was well used and moved quickly.

Certainly the highlight of our trip to Florence. A very modest cost for a day of fun with experienced, enthusiastic instructors, who took the time to assist novice cooks like myself to create a genuine Italian meal and a rich dessert. You'll leave with a smile, wiser and not in need of dinner!

Myself and my partner took this class expecting either a very serious atmosphere or quite a simple experience. However we were pleasantly surprised to find neither. Right from the get-go, David's tour of the market was engaging, humorous and informative. (I went back to have the Lampredotto the following day!) And would recommend everyone to take any advice they give... More

My friend and I recently had the pleasure of taking this class with Virginia. This was a private class with only the 3 of us. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay while in Florence! We tasted many different wines, olive oils as well as a few "extras". We learned alot of new things and thoroughly enjoyed our time with... More
