We had numerous emails over many months to confirm the details of a private tour to be organized by Max and his company. I was very specific because the cruise stop in Livorno allowed only limited time to achieve the heavy list of must-sees and must-dos. I had arranged that Skip-the-Line tickets be available for both the Accademia and Uffizi... More

Massimo was great company and very talented! My wife and I toured all day with him through the beautiful wine country of Chianti. Our first stop, San Gimignano coincided with a market day and the main central square was occupied with vendor booths, which did provide some opportunity to pickup a few nice items. Walking past- I was drawn into... More

My friend and I had an amazing tour with Massimo. We spent the day touring Tuscany with him. He is a wonderful person with lots of interesting facts and is very warm and friendly. I highly recommend this tour as you can visit as your own pace and it's wonderful to have a guide to show you. The best part... More

A big thank you to the excellent service of Tuscany in Tour. I emailed Max to arrange transportation for us as a family of 5 from Pisa Airport to our hotel in Florence. Max was extremely prompt with his responses and very helpful, even suggesting a short stop at the Tower of Pisa on our journey, which we did -... More

Some days ago visited Florence and Pisa whilst cruising on Allure of the seas. One can imagine how in few hours such beautiful cities especially Florence can be thouroughly visited. Thanks God I contacted Max and his trustworthy company. We were comfortably driven from La Spezia to all the attractions by FRANCESCO who is so professional, and literally shared with... More

This was one of the best holidays we have had. Max was wonderful in working with us on scheduling, selection and overall questions. The tour guides in each city were professional and very knowledgable, adding thier own perspective. For example, the tour guide in Florence has a PhD in Art History!!! The drivers were prompt and the cars were immaculate.... More

Made touring Italy affordable and effortless (10 days: Milan, Parma, Florence, all of Tuscany, Bologna, Venice, Verona). Traveling with 2 octogenarians, we were able to be driven wherever we wanted and go at our own pace. The drivers and guides all spoke English and were extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you Massimo, you are a gem.

We were two couples who wanted to visit as much of Italy as we could in 2 weeks, with no idea how to handle all of our booking of tours, hotels, travel but we knew the places we wanted to visit. Lost & Found Viaggi was the greatest find. I was leery at first only dealing with the company from... More

Wonderful tour of the Chianti wine region. In addition to being very knowledgeable on wine making, our guide Massimo was very funny/charismatic which made the tour that much more enjoyable. We were picked up in front of our hotel, driven to multiple sites in countryside and then dropped off back in town near a restaurant he recommended for dinner. We... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
