We are a family of 8 traveling across Italy of Christmas and New Year's. I got in touch with Max a few months before our trip and he helped me plan out some of our itinerary by planning tours, transfers, etc. once we reached Florence. We were picked up on time every morning. One day was spent with Giorgio touring... More

Massimo picked us up in Florence precisely on time to take our family of 4, including our two college-age children on our wine tour of Chianti. He provided interesting conversation and information for the full day. In addition to two wineries, we stopped at an American WWII memorial, the historic town of Greve (a highlight) and the beautiful old city... More

First and foremost, Massimo was fantastic. Picked us up each morning from our villa near San Gimignano and we visited wineries and Tuscan towns. At each stop, guides and tours were set up and went very smoothly. The company also arranged a wonderful tour for 2 of the Colisseum and surrounding with Valentina. The other good reviews certainly reflect the... More

We visited Pisa and Florence with Massimo as one of our Cruise stops was in Livorno. Massimo was charming, very professional, friendly and knowledgeable of the area. He adjusted the tour to our interests and preferences, and accommodated the time so we could enter the Accademia Museum to see the David of Michelangelo. Massimo is also an excellent driver and... Our primary driver Massimo, was a charm. He was a very good driver and always met us on time. He helped us out in so many ways. We were a group of 8 and everyone thought he was fabulous. We would absolutely use this service again.

I booked a day trip to Cinque Terre and Max confirmed pick up time and date by email. However, when they did not show up, I called and they didn't even have me on the schedule. There was nothing they could do and because of our tight schedule and other bookings, I missed one of the places I really wanted... More

Dear Customer I'm so sorry for the inconvenience but as I said to you on the phone, we have never received the reservation form filled out with your info, and so we have never sent a confirmation voucher. How can a tour be confirmed without these two elements? As stated in the form, the tour can be confirmed ONLY if... More

With limited time in Italy, we wanted to see some of the Tuscan hillside towns en route from Florence to Rome. We decided on Tuscany in Tour and couldn't have been happier with their service! They communicated efficiently via email before our trip & agreed to our desired itinerary (San Gimignano, Monteriggioni & Siena) at a reasonable price. Massimo was... More

We have recently completed an excellent 18 day tour of Northern Italy and the Lakes with Private Tour of Italy, a branch of Lost & Found. From the outset, Max was helpful in suggesting hotels, itineraries and visits with artisan food and wine producers. He suggested not booking private boat tours at the lakes, excepting a lovely 2 hour sunset... More

I highly recommend this company (also known as Private Tour of Italy) and everyone that works with it. I contacted four or five different companies to inquire about planning several days of touring before and after our Mediterranean Cruise. Of all the companies I contacted, this one was the most professional and organized. Max emailed a detailed daily itinerary for... More

We had numerous emails over many months to confirm the details of a private tour to be organized by Max and his company. I was very specific because the cruise stop in Livorno allowed only limited time to achieve the heavy list of must-sees and must-dos. I had arranged that Skip-the-Line tickets be available for both the Accademia and Uffizi... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
