Flew from Dublin to Pisa on ryanair, bought the bus ticket on board the plane for €5,it took about 65 min to get to SMN. Walked to our hotel to get apt keys (Bellavista apt).Lovely quiet neighbourhood with lots of cafes, restaurants, Atm, supermarkets. Food was reasonable in most places as was wine, Zio Gigi was the slowest service we... More

Our guide who we can't remember her name was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgable and always spoke with a smile. You could tell she loved everything about her job. She was a pleasure to be around! If it wasn't for her we likely wouldn't have been able to go on the tour. There were some complications with our booking. We... More

We found Florence in the area of the Uffizi gallery to be overwhelmingly crowded and almost 'unvisitable'. Following the advice of a well travelled friend, we crossed the river to the quiet, residential side of Florence, bought a very reasonably priced (delicious) picnic from a local deli and went up the hill to the Michaelangelo park. Go up as far... More

This tour felt more like and art class than a tour. Our tour guide spent so much time talking about the artistic differences between 3 similar paintings in one room, and then skipped over several other significant works. Granted, it would take much longer to see all of the museum, but I felt a little cheated as we were herded... More

We went to the pizza making class at night. It was the best fun we had in Florence! About 20 people in the class, and two chefs. Both were terrific! We met a lot of people, drank a lot of wine (included), and learned how to make pizza, calzone, and gelato! It was supposed to be over at 9pm, but... More

September 25, 2012 - Cooking class with chef Giovanni. Undoubtedly one of the highlights from our week in Tuscany. I have to start off by saying that I don't cook and my wife made me go with her. She was right, i absolutely enjoyed the experience. Chef Giovanni is one heck of a character. We started off with a tour... More

We did two tours during our stay. First, we did the Florence Walking tour with tour guide Mario and had the best time. Mario's passion for art history made our experience unforgettable. His personality is a perfect fit for what he does. Second, we did the Cinque Terre tour with tour guide Jaco and his driver Mauricio. Again what a... More

We picked FlorenceTown for a tour of the Uffizi Gallery and the Vasari Corridor because it was recommended by Rick Steves. We had the gentleman with goatee as our tour guide and he was definitely enthusiastic about the art in the gallery and the history behind. Maybe a little too much. The tour went over the alloted time and there... More

Myself and two travel companions (ages 57 to 67) did the Florencetown day tour to the Cinque Terre. Our guide was Tom, a Brit who was knowledgeable and competent, and retained his cool while shepherding about 20 of us on and off the van, crowded trains and rocking boats during the 11 hour tour of 3 villages. An adequate lunch... More
